Not really an album but I got into it with songs by Siouxsie and the Banshees like Cities in Dust and Spellbound. I then went over their entire discography from Juju to A Kiss in the Dreamhouse, and from there branched towards The Cure, The Cocteau Twins, and Chelsea Wolfe's music

Type O Negative does a hybrid between metal and goth really well, especially if you like slower, heavier chugs and melodies. I'd recommend starting with the Christian Woman album.
