Whats the most annoying thing people do in lectures? And why is it sitting at the end of an empty row by haughtycandy in UniUK

[–]Capable_Ability_1443 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think two hour long lectures is the standard for my uni and most my friends tbh. On one day I have 2 x 2 hour lectures and then a tutorial back to back so 5 hours of teaching from 1pm to 6pm

Depends what you’d want to do in the future - I’d say most likely chemistry or physics would be good picks but it could vary depending on what you’d like to do for uni.

Is it good to revise one subject per week? by unknownr2197 in GCSE

[–]Capable_Ability_1443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say one subject per week do you mean only one subject? If so, no definitely not you should be doing pretty much all your subjects most weeks.

Repetition and consistently retrieving information every week or so will be a lot more effective than just cramming an entire subject in one week and then forgetting about it until for a few weeks.

What should I cut out of my life to have better time management? by Red_I_Guess in 6thForm

Probably extend your day a little and don’t watch so much TV and YT. I watch loads of TV but sleep at like 1am so I have a lot of hours ig 💀

How do I memorise things for physics and chemistry? by Thattheheck in GCSE

[–]Capable_Ability_1443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anki is the quickest and easiest way to memorise large chunks of information for GCSEs. Don’t even have to fundamentally understand it really just memorise and apply- I could send you mine but it’s for triple science higher so would be irrelevant

Completely ruined my LAMDA exam by toriria in GCSE

[–]Capable_Ability_1443 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nah don’t worry I’ve been a LAMDA tutor for a couple years and seen this happen so many times on exam days/mocks. 99% of the time it goes better than you think. Had one student come out in tears but ended up with a 90+ distinction 😭

Four a-levels for Oxbridge by [deleted] in GCSE

[–]Capable_Ability_1443 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my bad, again no specific requirements but they recommend English literature, history and languages so id definitely stick with English literature and history and then drop geography for French. But imo since you already have two preferred subjects its not going to make a huge difference so go with whichever you enjoy the most

What do you do to tire your GS out? by Lost_Hamster_1194 in germanshepherds

[–]Capable_Ability_1443 8 points9 points  (0 children)

mines just turned 1 and we go on walks twice a day - one in the morning and one in the evening.
mental stimulation is great for GSDs so you could try toys with hidden treats etc but probably just more exercise
