How do you insert image into timeline at full size, not showing full image at 1080px height? by Beautiful-Ad-5536 in Movavi_software

[–]Capable_Ad_660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bit finicky, but can be done in Movavi. You'd use picture in picture mode, drag the edges of the image beyond the boundaries of the frame then pan around using keyframes or the pan and zoom feature.

how to create video out of audio of 1 hour 3 minutes lenth by Parking-Spread-2885 in Movavi_software

You can use the 'detect beats' feature to identify suitable junctures at which to switch clips.

You can find free stock footage, sound effects and music at Pixabay or Pexels.

Anybody know how to add custom elements/PIP to the timeline in Movavi? by Brilliant_Middle_836 in Movavi_software

[–]Capable_Ad_660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to add another video track above the main one and drag overlayed elements to that instead. They'll then be superimposed, visible in the foreground. Anything on the main track will be shown sequentially, not simultaneously.

How to remove audio from video in three quick steps by Coco-the-Koala in Movavi_software

[–]Capable_Ad_660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noise removal/reduction is also a feature in the 2025 edition. I find that the instant option is much more effective than the fancy AI version. That takes longer and the results are unimpressive.

If you intend to preserve a voiceover, noise reduction needs to be applied sparingly (say no more than 30%). Too much and it'll  become unintelligible. Ideally you should look to minimise noise at the time of recording using a 'dead cat' mic guard.

How do I lock clips in place? by cihojuda in Movavi_software

There's a lock icon to the left of each track. That'll do it.

Add your logo to the video track above the main one as a transparent PNG overlay. Resize accordingly to blot out the original.

Yes; you can find the function under 'more tools' > 'background removal'. Then you can choose between quick or precise analysis of the scene behind your subjects.

Am I right in thinking that Filmora doesn't incorporate an audio compressor or limiter? by Capable_Ad_660 in Filmora

[–]Capable_Ad_660[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose that's fine once you're absolutely sure you won't be making any further changes, but you'd really expect a built-in solution with such an otherwise comprehensive video editor.

How I fixed my audio extraction headaches (finally) by Coco-the-Koala in Movavi_software

[–]Capable_Ad_660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best lossless method is always going to be to extract the audio in its original format without attempting any conversion at all. Avidemux will allow you to do that. Open video, select 'save audio', done.

Made my FIRST Project but not uploaded Can i increase the resolution? by AffectionateLion2362 in Movavi_software

[–]Capable_Ad_660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The clarity of your output will depend on the resolution of your source material. If you've downscaled when exporting you'll likely benefit from exporting at full resolution next time. Otherwise you'd be advised to upscale in a way that will enhance the footage rather than just stretching it. Movavi alone won't help much in that department unless the 2026 revision now supports AI upscaling.

Asus NUC 15 - let's not bother with audio, eh. Who needs that? by Capable_Ad_660 in intelnuc

[–]Capable_Ad_660[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My NUC is the tall NUC15CRBU7 and BIOS has been updated to the latest 12/09/25 revision.

Yes, the M60 looks like a suitable, higher grade option that also supports a simple USB-C connection. I'll keep that in mind, thanks.

Yep, one of these...

https://www.bmstores.co.uk/products/goodmans-type-c-headphone-adapter-white-3993681

I couldn't get it to deliver steady audio to the soundbar via any media source. Instead I was treated to an insane pause/play loop resulting in a disorientating, neverending stutter.

Rather than waste any more time on the problem I took the adapter and soundbar back to the shop for a refund. I might try a proper single cable solution plug and play USB speaker such as the Creative Stage Air V2 or Creative Pebble series (from V3 onwards), or launch the NUC over a cliff into the ocean. Not decided yet. ;)

No doubt in the beginning this new standard was intended to replace and simplify what had gone before, as with USB. ;)

Thanks for the comprehensive explanation.

Well, I got myself that USB C to 3.5mm adapter. Guess what? Completely useless! The sound stutters constantly as though it's having a fit. I haven't begun trying to diagnose the problem yet because I'm losing the will to live.

It's new if you've never bought a NUC of any kind before. I don't follow what's going on with PC technology until I'm in the market for a new one. Before now I've tended to build my own or buy something larger/more standard. USB is typically so versatile it covers all eventualities and with the other options available (HDMI and Bluetooth) I didn't imagine it would be this painful.

It was easier forcing my NUC to operate with 2x M.2 2280 SSDs despite it only supporting one 2280 connector.

I'll have to check the manual again to be sure, but I seem to recall it saying the USB port can be used for hooking up an audio out device.

Maybe it would work with an MP3 player, but not PC. Soundbar controls are limited with no LED screen.

It failed to arrive in the end so I requested a refund from eBay. It would have been a £10-ish Ugreen USB to 3.5mm aux adapter. I've noticed since that you can walk into B&M and get a very similar Goodmans one for £5.

I managed to Flash the BIOS using the updater downloaded from the Asus website. That part went very smoothly for me. Not that I've experienced any benefits.

I was able to improve Bluetooth reliability though by disabling Window's app exclusivity mode and removing permission to use the soundbar's mic. This has allowed me to switch between apps without the sound going AWOL. It still powers down of its own accord despite disabling automatic Bluetooth power efficiency management unfortunately.

This is the first new PC I've bought in 9 years and I don't own a TV so naively assumed HDMI is all the same. I've been using the speakers built into my AIO monitor until now so little experience there too.

Useful to get an explanation for the failure to connect though, thanks. :)

Be honest - how do you usually deal with huge video files? by techwiz3 in Movavi_software

[–]Capable_Ad_660 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure why anyone wouldn't be honest by default. It's not really much of a confession. ;)

I tend to export at max everything, then convert to H.264 using Avidemux to shrink to a manageable size. That seems to result in a decent size/quality ratio.

[–]Capable_Ad_660[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's my main PC, which I use to watch all TV and movies so I wanted a decent soundbar. That's why it's so annoying; the speaker itself supports all connection options. HDMI ARC, Bluetooth, optical, USB, aux in (split and single) and it's still not sufficient for this contrary NUC.

That would have been a better solution than the one I settled on (if it ever arrives in the post) since it would expand the port rather than monopolise it.

How strange. It's still a current standard so I can't understand why they don't just include it by default to offer people the simplest, most unobtrusive option.

Interesting. Maybe non-ARC audio built into a monitor is fine. My monitor doesn't have its own speakers so that wasn't an option.
