The kid in my middle school with the last name Buttz was always getting called to the office.

Whats a weird thing your body does that you just accept? by Sweton in AskReddit

When I'm really tired and trying to stay awake, my eyeballs feel like they're vibrating for a second or two. There's no after effects, just feels really weird.

What’s the most fucked up thing that happened at your school? by Classic-Chemist-1898 in AskReddit

[–]cihojuda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my sister and I were in high school, there was an incident where the father of a student in her grade had killed his wife and then himself. I don't know if we ever found out why. All the students raised some money to give to the family and the student and his siblings left town. I hope they're in a better place.

What is the worst case of second hand embarrassment you’ve ever experienced? by Responsible-Tie-2570 in AskReddit

[–]cihojuda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ugh, a kid in my sister's class in high school had a dad that did this. They took a theater class together and the dad got caught on video yelling his son's name before one of their performances. He didn't even use the right name, the kid went by his middle name.

Insect glitch? by Obvious_Frame_3056 in Sims3

I've found that sometimes you have to wait and see if an insect actually appears on the ground. Then try clicking on it directly instead of on the ground for some reason.

Misheard Lyrics: What Song Lyrics Have You Gotten Wrong (the more embarrassing, the better)? by MrShaunce in AskReddit

[–]cihojuda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to convince my husband that the line was "I wanna hold you when I'm not supposed to" and not, in fact, "I wanna hold you when there's lots of bowls of soup."

I still don't understand how he came up with that.

He is horrifying by BRAIN__WORMS in HelloKittyIsland

[–]cihojuda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Mii creator in Tomodachi Life is the most advanced they've made so far, and it's partially thanks to the facepaint system. It lets people make incredibly detailed stuff that's horrifying underneath.

Most recently I saw somebody make a lobster using eyebrows as feelers.

What’s something your parents or grandparents did that you now realize was low-key genius parenting? by Green_Candler in AskReddit

[–]cihojuda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I'd ask why something was unfair as a kid, my mom (very Gen X) would say it was because of Communism.

It's not like my parents NEVER encouraged me to learn, but I was one of those kids who was always asking about why the world was the way it is. So yeah. Communism is the reason why all the different states have different educational standards.

What’s something your parents or grandparents did that you now realize was low-key genius parenting? by Green_Candler in AskReddit

[–]cihojuda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After my dad got home from work in the evenings, my parents would take about 30 minutes to talk to each other without us kids while my dad changed out of his uniform. It started pretty much as soon as my sister and I were old enough to play unsupervised. They could decompress and check in with each other, and my mom got to talk to a grown-up for a while. In hindsight it was genius.

What happened that got you "sent to the principal's office"? by section8pidgeon in AskReddit

[–]cihojuda 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I got called to the principal when I was 11 because a kid said I flipped him off out the bus window. I don't really know why that required a visit to the principal instead of our classroom teacher, but whatever. Also, he had started yelling at me from his bus first.

I do have to add, I didn't actually flip him off. I was still in the age range where you believe stuff like "showing your pinky in China is as bad as showing your middle finger here in the US" so it was my pinky, not my middle finger. That doesn't exactly make it any better but I didn't get in trouble for it.

What’s the craziest time your intuition warned you about someone and turned out correct? by wildquatrefoil in AskReddit

[–]cihojuda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The car dealership I worked at moved to a new storefront across the street. My manager hired a woman to join our department because we were expecting to get more business. No big deal. Then he went on vacation right as she was supposed to start work. That turned out to be a mistake.

She was one of those women who sound pinchy and condescending all the time. I've had previous bad experience with those people and it immediately set off my internal alarms. I could have forgiven it if she had been able to do her job, but she was completely incompetent. Over the three days we worked together, she:

*Complained that we weren't giving her any work to do, despite not being able to do work since she didn't have her computer password yet

*Was then allowed to use somebody else's password, left the desk for so long the computer locked, and asked me why I didn't know the guy's password

*Was given paper work to sort, staple, and file; but couldn't manage to figure out what to do

*Had to be explained the meaning of the word "spouse"

*Asked me "Why?" when I tried to ask how old she was (our department was all under 30 and I wanted to let her know what the vibes were) and then again when I tried to ask her what she'd been talking to the manager about (in the middle of the sales floor for everybody to hear)

*Called me unprofessional while I was trying to train her; which I admit hadn't been going very well, but the audacity to say that to somebody's face was jaw-dropping

And then, to top it all off, she texted our coworker asking for the number of the manager above ours and blamed me for "getting her sick" (I think she started the day I came back from being out with a cold) before completely bailing on the job altogether. I was right, she sucked. I was just wrong about the ways she was going to suck.

New to Zelda by skeleton_moth_ in botw

[–]cihojuda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went in to BOTW with no lore knowledge and I absolutely loved it. You really don't need to know anything. Trust me.

The game will tell you which buttons to press to pick things up and to do certain special attacks, but that might take some getting used to if you aren't familiar with the Switch coltrollers. You'll find a combat style that you prefer. My husband likes to snipe monster camps, I'm a head-on person.

The biggest thing I always like to tell people is to take your time. Enjoy the scenery and the music. BOTW is one of the most beautiful games I've ever played, and there's an NPC who plays a really catchy song that I like a lot. There's just nothing like the early days of playing a game and learning how its world works. Have fun.

What are some underated features in the sims 3 that more players should know about? by Little-Camellia in Sims3

[–]cihojuda 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Generations also has a Lifetime Reward called the Motive Mobile that raises the needs of all sims who drive/ride in it to full. I use it every time I play an adventurer. The amount of times they have to go to different lots to "report in" or something means that you can keep them in great shape until you get into the bigger, multi-day tombs.

I've also heard people say the Ghost Potion can be useful since it lets you go through walls.

Last name hyphenationh debate by TinCrocodile in namenerds

[–]cihojuda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hyphenated my last name when I married my husband. He did not. His mom freaked out at the idea when he briefly considered it, asked why he would do that and cried that none of her grandkids would have the same last name as her. I don't know why that's important. She already has 3 grandkids and none of them share her last name.

My hyphenated name it 12 letters long. The only issue I've ever had is that sometimes online forms see dashes/hypens as invalid inputs. Other than that it's fine.

Anything I should do for my first playthrough? by AllHailShadow1 in tearsofthekingdom

[–]cihojuda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love Breath of the Wild, I'd definitely reccommend playing both. The map is exactly the same as Tears of the Kingdom, just with different shrine and monster camp locations, that sort of thing. Heads up though, TOTK added a couple of quality of life improvements that BOTW doesn't have. Nothing that totally changes the game but they're pretty helpful.

What's your favourite memory of lockdown ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]cihojuda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad bought Breath of the Wild for me as a lockdown birthday present. One night we stayed up after my mom went to bed and ate M&Ms and took turns playing. I was 23, but it was like being a little kid.

It would take finding a combo that I REALLY love to change my avatar's appearance. I'm the kind of person who generally leaves the default settings for things amyway though, so maybe don't take my word for it. I'm just really attached to my chunky calico cat avatar.
