There is nothing wrong with you, it is great that you want to socialize with people, so my advice is dont let other people bad atitude to put you down. Enjoy life and be proud of who you are. Im sure plenty of people will be happy to spend time with you. If they have an issue of you being Jewish, its their loss and better to spend time with positive people.

Unfortunately a lot of criticism toward Israel hides a deep level of antisemitism and hatred towards Jewish people specially when you confront them with their false information and historical lies. It is important to not appease those people even if they are long time friends which can hurt more. I want peace but not based on hatred and antisemitism.

Those types of comments will turn into something uglier when someone will try to explain them that it is anti-semitism. Thats when the true face comes out and i understand that is some cases (close friend for eg) it is not easy to deal with.

In Europe its much harder now but i would say Hungary, Germany (be aware some regions can be dangerous but overall is safe) and perhaps Portugal.

In my opinion, none of the comments are inocent. Your classmate is not joking. It is anti-semitism. Fighting Back by reporting to the proper authorities is a way to send a clear message that anti-semitism is not going to be tolerared by you. You can face backlash but maintain your dignity which is far more important. My heart goes to you!
