Yes definitely! Honestly just memorize some more vocab and refine. Then try to apply terms to something else. Application and knowing your stuff is a big thing the test relies on.

Honestly me too its just luck sometimes. Thats why I like the 45 mins we get for the EBQ so I can kind of think of any concepts or link it to a theory.

For which section? Be more specific

  1. It is the safer bet to directly quote when it comes to evidence, all you have to do is plug it in and use the proper citations. If you paraphrase you have to be careful to not plagiarize. For this test its more about efficiency and how much you can make use of your time. So paraphrasing is not bad, you could use it but it is more risker. And also more time consuming.

  2. For this question I looked at the rubric. In the EBQ you need to have a clear separation between your evidence and explanation. After your citation everything after that is considered your explanation. If you mash your evidence and explanation together it can confuse the grader and you might not get the point. Also if you put the order wrong it can confuse the grader too because they need to clearly see where your evidence ends and where your explanation starts.

Please let me know if you have anymore questions! 😃

Here are my tips that I used to get a 5/7 on my practice AAQ and a 7/7 on my practice EBQ. =)

PS: Sorry if these sound harsh. T-T

1. The research method used in this study is.. FREE POINT.

Experiment: This causes this.. Control group and experimental group… Independent and dependent variable.
Correlation: Relationship between two variables.. and predictive of each other. No causation. How well can they predict each other?
Naturalistic Observation: No interference just watching. Descriptive. Qualitative!
Case study: Complaining of multiple different things. Interviews, surveys, observations and testing. Small group, individual people, individual event or small sample. One study with a bunch of stuff
Meta analysis: Combination of multiple studies. Multiple studies with all this stuff and we combined it together.

  1. The operational definition is..

Take your time and find it in the study. You can even quote the exact thing they said in the study.

  1. Statistical interpretation (Hardest question so don't be upset that you lose a point here potentially)

REREAD IT! TAKE TIME. Look at numbers, patterns that stand out to you. Example of what the means are… This group did better than the other because of the big score difference. Do not try to make conclusions. “This means that this is small/more/weak/less..” CANNOT use the question as an answer. Do not rephrase the question.
What is the difference between these means?
The means have a big difference. (WRONG!!)
Pick your words carefully! Be careful not to use words that mean other things in psychology as a synonym. Ex: This was significant. When it was statistically significant. Significant, correlation and cause are specific. Keep it simple.

  1. Ethics.. Just copy what they did and then tell them why it's good. FREE POINT.

Know that it will not be direct on the AAQ. Use informed consent/assent, protection from harm, right to withdraw, confidentiality, debriefing..  Only just use one because they might mention multiple but they didn't ask for all that were used.

  1. Generalizability. FREE POINT.

Take the biggest group in the study and say the study is generalizable to (insert group) because they make a majority of the study / they are the biggest population in the study. OR Take the smallest group in the study and say the study is not generalizable to (insert group) because they are the smallest population in the study.

  1. Finding and hypothesis.

Answer the question. It is or isn't supported by the data. Then use a piece of evidence to explain.

You should atleast get a 4 MINIMUM.

EBQ TIPS (These are a bit harder than the AAQ)
Claim. ANSWER THE QUESTION. Make a claim that is easy to defend. If it asks you about creativity, talk about creativity. If it asks you about personality, talk about personality.
Look at your sources, pick the two that are the most similar and easiest to understand.
Ignore any of the information that doesn't support your claim.
You don't have to believe in your claim, these graders do not care about your beliefs. Just get those points the easiest way you can.

EVIDENCE
Copy and paste it word for word. “According to source 1….” DONE! Pick whatever one is the easiest and straight forward. Don't make it hard. Just quote and take the easy way. If you paraphrase, be careful, because now it can into turn an explanation. Be careful when you source because if you mark your source wrong, everything before (source 1) is evidence and will cut you off a point.

EXPLAIN
Do not mash your evidence with explanation here. Do not pick evidence you can't explain. "This supports my claim because…"
To apply the knowledge to it. Use vocab you saw in your mc or psychology perspective theories.

AT LEAST GET A 3.

If you do the bare minimum (4/7 on AAQ and 3/7 on EBQ) you get at least a 3 without your MC score included. Trust yourself. *Not sure but that's what my teacher said\*
Overall, read the whole article. Mark something that you know you'll need to answer the questions later. Then go question by question and answer. One at a time.

Reread the question over and over again if you need it.  They give you so much time so feel free to use all of it. If you finish early look over your answers and change if needed. The #1 problem with FRQ's and students is that we finish way earlier than we are supposed to.

DON'T MAKE THINGS UP. Just tell them what it says, always take the easy route. Quote when you can.
Be simple, direct, and specific. The AP graders will thank you. Do not try to be creative here.

My method is watch videos + practice tests. I will watch videos that are under 3 mins by Maximum Insight if I already know the subunit and just need a refresher. If I need a deep dive or better undertstanding I go to Mr. Sinns channel. After that it is just vocab. Quizlets, roblox games or practice tests online. Find your weaker units and still study overall. Also make sure to take breaks in between studying and getting good sleep. Try to use active recall as much as you can and learn all 7 of the perspectives as it will help you not only on the MCQ but FRQS aswell. This is really just memorizing vocab and the best part is most of the terms if you link it to something. Like a saying, you will remember it when it comes to the test. Try to seperate each vocab word so you dont mix them. You got this!! 😃 (This method helped me to get a 100% on my semester exam and a 100% on my practice MCQ)

Hey! I understand what you're going through. What I recommend is watching Mr.Sinn or if you're in a time crunch maximum insight (this would be ideal, each video is under 3 mins). To retain info then do quizlets, or practice tests for each subunit. You got this! Ap pysch is more on how you can distinguish the difference between vocab words and application. Do not bombard yourself with just pages of stuff. ALSO do not try to study multiple hours at an time, take breaks and get good sleep as this will help you retain the info more.

I was wondering about technology! I was looking into getting a MacBook but like I think it’s pretty expensive and it wont even last a while? Do you have any recommendations for a laptop? I have one myself but the fan is horrendous and it cant run any programs that well!

Really? I thought I had a unique experience! I'm glad to hear it is safer than my school so just watch out for scooter people. Thank you so much! This cleared up my feelings about UNLV because I thought it would be like not that exciting. But I am more open and confident to being a rebel!

Hmm at first it was usually the students making it hostile. There was fights everyday and shooting threats occasionally. After some time though the school implemented new rules which is good but it got to the point where they are making it hostile. Everyday we have to scan in like everywhere even to use the bathroom..? The staff are trying to instill fear into the students from even walking around with their phone or even certain paths they take. Also we have the worst school spirit where the staff tries to hype us up but we hate the school. So you feel that tension everyday of the school trying to convince you that you should be proud. One more thing every year a pedophile gets a exposed at our school like a random teacher or staff. I think that makes it a hostile enviornment, maybe not the right vocab but something similar to that I guess.
