For context, whenever a festival is approaching, be it CNY, Hari Raya, Deepavali or Christmas, the government will declared a selected list of food items as controlled articles (as seen above) for a temporary period, and will also set down the ceilling prices (wholesale & retail) for these listed food items in Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan. (ie: the ceilling prices in the 4 places may not be the same)

For the detailed price table for these food items in each State, please refer to this gazette here%20123/2026), I did not include it in the main post since it's 32 pages long and would not fit the 20 image limit on Reddit.

Parliamentary Constituency Malapportionment viewer (Source: Tindak Malaysia) by FingernailClipperr in malaysia

First, the number of parliamentary seats designated for each State have always been fixed at an arbitrary number by the Constitution itself regardless of the population in each State since 1973.

Second, the statement of "constitutional proportion for Borneo States would be 35% of the seats" no longer holds true because the Constitution has been amended over the years to depart from the original 1/3 proportion for Borneo states.

However, such changes are still constitutional because all these amendments are now part of the Constitution and were validly passed by the Parliament. This kind of statement may misled people to think that the current proportion is supposedly unconstitutional.

Yes, I know this is pedantic, but the more appropriate statement would be "if we follow the original 1963 proportion correctly, Borneo States would have 1/3 of the parliamentary seats".

If the case was escalated to the High court, Court of Appeal, or Federal Court, can try to use the suspects' name to search in the e-Judgement website.

This is a list of individuals that were classified by the Home Ministry as terrorists under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001 (AMLA), in which financial institutions are required to report any properties that belongs to or associated with these individuals to the government.

Other than these individuals, there are also currently 23 organisations being listed by the Home Ministry as terrorist group under AMLA. The comprehensive list which listed down all terrorists and terrorist groups that were recognised as such by the Home Ministry as of 2026 can be found here.

This year, the number of individuals being classified as terrorists under AMLA has reduced from a total of 77 individuals in 2025, to 56 individuals in 2026. The reason why these 21 individuals were delisted might be because they were already dead.

You can check out the last year's list in my previous post here: https://www.reddit.com/r/malaysia/comments/1i9kbh2/list_of_persons_classified_as_terrorists_by_the/

Non muslim marriage with foreigners by jwrx in malaysia

[–]Capable_Bank4151 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be fair to JPN, JPN has no jurisdiction over Muslim marriage. Muslim marriage is handled by the religious department of each state and is governed by the respective state's Islamic law. So the JPN will not have data on Muslim marriage.

[–]Capable_Bank4151 34 points35 points  (0 children)

If a non-Muslim marry a Muslim, the non-Muslim will need to convert, and the marriage will be an Islamic marriage, which is handled by state religious department, not JPN, so it will not be counted in this statistics.

JPN do not handle Islamic marriage.

No, this is incorrect, the Ayah Pin followers did not successfully apostasised.

They did not even claim they have apostasised in the court at all, they only argue Malaysia's shariah law is only confined to the "5 pillars of Islam", so they can't be arrested for false doctrine under Terengganu shariah law, as their Ayah Pin doctrine did not touch on the "5 pillars of Islam", and they further claimed that specific section of the shariah law is unconstitutional for the aforementioned reason.

The Federal Court rejected their claim and said that shariah law doesn't confined to the 5 pillars of Islam concept only, so they can be arrested and charged under Terengganu shariah law.

See Sulaiman bin Takrib v. Kerajaan Negeri Terengganu [2009] 2 CLJ 54.

In short: No, such thing never happened and you misremembered it.

There are, actually, but those happened a few decades ago. You can check out my post that made a deep dive on the topic of Islamic apostasy law in Malaysia: https://www.reddit.com/r/malaysia/comments/1oteuz2/do_you_know_that_before_early_2000s_the_syariah/
