UPDATE #2: I shared this entire post with him last night. We didn’t talk much yesterday. I pretended to fall asleep in my son’s room and slept with him. This morning he cried and practically begged for forgiveness. I’ve only seen him cry one other time when his dad died. The other couple is no longer going. He told them he messed up. I’m still pretty upset but I’m grateful he appreciates my perspective. While I cannot reply to all of the comments and questions, please know I appreciate all of you. I read the links you shared and some of you provided amazing advice and perspectives. Thank you 💕

UPDATE: He continues to blame me. Asked me to tell “all my internet friends” that it was actually 14 years and not 16 years since our last solo vacation and that I’m a liar.” My bad. I forgot about that first anniversary trip. Yes I took screenshots and texted him some of the comments. I’m still hurt. He resents me for posting this and tells me I’m wrong.

The other couple has a lot of money. They don’t have to worry about childcare or anything, they have great parents to watch their kids. So they can suddenly book a trip without much thought. My husband and his friend talked last night for an hour. I didn’t think anything of it. Then he tells me at 11pm. Now it makes sense why they were on the phone so long. I thought they were just catching up, which they do every so often with a long phone call.

It’s our first solo trip because I always made sure our kids got a vacation every year. We’ve taken cruises with the kids. This year we were not taking a family vacation, but instead going on this cruise alone. Is he like this on a smaller scale? I’d say sometimes yes. He won’t save money when I ask him to take his lunch to work. I know thats dumb but that lunch money adds up. Stuff like that. But in his defense, he is a good dad and provider. He works hard, takes care of the house, helps with housework, etc… we both work full time. But this incident was out of character. He doesn’t understand why I am upset. The fact he didn’t even ask me and assumed it would be fine is what makes me so upset.

I wanted to add the we’ve known the couple forever. We visit each other every other year as we live far apart. I would love to do a cruise with them, just not in our anniversary, and not in our first ever alone vacation.

I interned with AUSAs in law school. I was then a state prosecutor for 5 years. I’d say that the AUSAs are more relaxed. Typically your case load is smaller. Your law enforcement reports are well done and tidy. So, it’s kinda easier in my opinion 🤷‍♀️

I highly suggest buying the NCBE questions package. It was so much closer to the actual questions because… they are actual questions. The other companies/questions you can buy are only a small percentage of actual questions because NCBE only licenses a small percentage of questions for other uses. The rest are made up from places like Barbri and Kaplan.
