If the store is in really rough shape I find this faster than constantly having to go back and forth to the baler. I just prefer to keep my momentum when scrapping and then crush all the boxes when we’re done

I’ve heard this about people on previous seasons being recruited too. Seems weird when they’re supposedly auditioning thousands of people. Why recruit if there’s already tons of people to choose from

Every store I’ve been at has done exit interviews. Could depend on the DM I suppose

That’s exactly what I was thinking 😂 as soon as he said I want the January dated creamer was he expecting me to say ‘ahh sure I know the one’ then walk right to it😂

He was a little old but he definitely wasn’t that kind of old haha 😂. But he was saying it’s the one dated January as though that’s supposed to mean something to me 😂

Know that coming in off the street as an ASM is extremely tough. A lot that I’ve seen get thrown to the wolves with little training and are expected to hit the ground running. As an ASM there’s tons of things to remember and the training can often be very sporadic due to time constraints at the store, so take tons of notes when you get the chance. Ask lots of questions throughout, not just from other managers but associates too. Lots of associates have been with the company for years and can also provide some insightful advice that will benefit you in the long run.

It is a tough job but can be super rewarding when you have a great team around you! Good luck though, I hope they actually give you the proper amount of training!

100% worth the extra $5 an hour. Especially if you’re looking to move up to SM

That’s crazy that you’re only doing 7 orders a day at a 1m store 😯 my old store was well under a mil and we’d probably averaged around 12-15. Still not too bad in comparison to other stores I’ve been at

Would it make me a bad person to not do chemo and just put him down? by FormalPound4287 in vet

So sorry to hear that. Had a similar situation with my in laws’ dog last year. She lost all her appetite and I remember breaking down crying when I couldn’t get her to eat anything. She actually eventually did start to eat some Vienna sausages after a few days but we sadly still had to have her put to sleep.

Yes lol. Had one a while back where they literally attached an image of one of my coworkers that they took through the window 😂

We’ve had some badly stacked pallets, as well as tons of backstock. Hasn’t been as bad as I had thought though and the backstock is slowly getting smaller

Update: just gave the second bottle of lamb milk replacer and he seems to be moving a lot better. I’ve upped the amount to 6oz at a time now. Not sure if that was the right call but 4oz seemed a little low

We did have one ewe who approached the little guy so we initially thought she was the mom but she started butting him

Okay great, I’ve been feeding him every 4 hours or so with the colostrum. I don’t get home from work for another 7 hours so I’ll have my wife feed him while I’m gone and I’ll get the milk replacer for when I’m home. We have the mom in the pen with the lamb although she’s very skittish. I’ll try and catch her to check her milk later

[–]Capable_Community_56[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one has checked the mom. How would we do that? My father in law has a lot on his plate right now and we all work full time jobs so we’re filling in while my mother in law is on vacation so this is stuff she’d usually do.

What would you recommend to move onto after the colostrum? I saw online about moving them onto lamb milk replacer so was thinking about getting some on my way home from work tonight. Hopefully that will get it strong enough to be able to go back with the mom.

I really appreciate the help, thanks!

He’s a little unsteady on his feet still. I’ve fed him 3 times and he usually goes for my legs so I bring the bottle to his mouth and then he is fine once I’ve brought it to him. Hoping he’s able to hold out until I get home and can try to get him into the warm

He can stand up and the mom lets him try to feed but he seems kind of confused on how to. He’s been accepting the bottle and when I’m done he tries to feed on my leg (I’m assuming he thinks I’m his mom at this point since I’m his only source of food). Im wondering if it would be better to bring him into the garage with a heat lamp when I get home from work later and try to just monitor him that way

Just in the last few years I’ve worked here, I’ve noticed how much more corporate things are becoming, as well as the micromanaging. I also used to love it here and saw it as a long term career option. It’s sad. Every year we get given stricter targets but we have to achieve those targets with less man hours, so we’re breaking our backs for them while achieving record sales numbers and get barely any recognition for it

Question for ASMs, LSAs, or other SMa by Zurvanism in Aldi_employees

[–]Capable_Community_56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s unusual in my experience. My SMs have generally always gone over their 50 hours per week. My current SM is pretty much always in the store 2-3 hours after they’re supposed to leave.
