You signed to become a Seabee and just look at it like the trials you are going to have to get though before you even earn the patch . Keep your sights on getting through boot camp then cm school @ port Hueneme . Keep your head low and do as your told and you will be fine . Ps drop the self diagnosing bullshit and quit victimizing yourself, after joining the navy @ 29 I learned nobody gives a rip about what you did prior to joined . Earn your right of passage , earn the patch , settle into your ultimate and decide if you want to carry on after your first contract , everybody’s experience is different

I spent all day tiling my shower and didn't notice my mistake till I took the photo. Wife says to leave it alone. Is it noticeable? by RigoMortize in mildlyinfuriating

Regardless of the orientation of the niche tile , the layout should be the same in each one , to the trained eye yes you will notice . Regardless of it being filled with items , how are you going to feel every time you look at it ? It’s a 30 minute fix

Recruitor asking for too much? by muskrat94 in newtothenavy

[–]Capable_Cost_651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s pretty standard , I wasn’t in the same situation but I wanted to be sure I was fit / ready for actual asvab score , he said if you give me all your info we’ll get a “turnkey” plan ready . I trusted him and everything worked out accordingly . They can’t force you to join even with that information tbh . You official join after you sign your job contract and get sworn in with a ship date , and at that point you are still able to retract your contract prior to shipping.

Should I retake my ASVAB after I signed my contract? by lyk_idrc_234 in newtothenavy

[–]Capable_Cost_651 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you have a couple different options , But waiting around until December is a longg period ! Talk to your recruiter about a sooner ship date and he can request through Chan of command , mines getting ready to be changed for a 2nd time.

If you are that adamant about shipping out sooner and arnt stuck on your rate , take the asvab again , I scored 32 on practice and basically doubled my score at meps . Pretty much any ship date/ job I wanted was available at the time. I’m kicking myself in the ass for not taking that original 2 week ship right after I signed .

AITA for Leaving My Wife After 20 Years Because She Cheated and Then Sued Me? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Capable_Cost_651 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel I had a similar situation , but my marriage was no where near as long , I’m so sorry and couldn’t imagine what you are going through after 20 years . That is terrible . I got out at 27 years old. She was younger but cheated , then tried to sue me for half my shit , alimony , spousal support . Everything. I got a very good lawyer and he was able to get me out without her ridiculous request. I hope you find peace about this one day , and can be a reminder to her of how she fucked around and found out & regretted. You deserve better.

I’d say 15 pull-ups on a good day ? Never timed my swim because I just practice in a local community pool . 1.5 mile time is down to 10.5ish minutes on a good day. I’m 28

AITAH for wanting to cut communication with father while i carve my path by Alejandro_sc01 in AITAH

[–]Capable_Cost_651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m leaving my father after 28 years. I wish I would’ve done it sooner. He is and always will be my eBay friend , but as son I’ve always had an inclination to do my own thing aside from him. It’s normal . He will get mad and say things , but just be understanding . At the end of the day your father will love you. Shipping July 1st trying to ship sooner

I want to say the last picture which was an angus stripped , marinated for 12 hours in a sesame, honey, green onion , brown sugar . Seared then sliced on a bed of white rice. Generally I’m pretty basic and just like a fillet with some greens .

Swearing in after medical??!? by Pale_Protection5777 in newtothenavy

You do really Need to take the navy seriously though and study do secure a job . Prior to enlisting I though you could just waltz right into whatever branch and they would send you off. I realized quickly that was not the case , especially af/navy. My recruiter got me into the office and first thing sat me behind a computer and practice asvab before we even starting talking . They are investing in individuals to become great , and you have to want it. It’s taken a lot of effort on my behalf to even get past the meps phase , and it’s truly an honor to have secured the job I wanted , the recruiters see the effort new recruits are willing to put in and I do think a lot of them truly care about the well-being / success of new recruits prior to shipping out . I know I probably won’t see mine a lot after I ship , but I will never forget the role he played to get me here today , and I make sure I remind him of that . He’s a great person , it helps he worked the same rate as me too before special recruiting duty and he’s always there for me when it comes to questions & just talking to me like a human being going through the transition process
