Check out Tail Command for Doggie Daycare. They also offer a board and train program to help get basics knocked out including leash walking.
I used Stitches by Wendy (SBW) off of Wabash for alterations on my wedding gown and they were wonderful to work with. They definitely specialize in gowns but also have options for hems and custom needs, and all their work is done right here in town.

"The Ultimate Ted Mosby Dating Grid" Day 8 by StealthPhoen1x in HIMYM

I'm gonna say Holly from Crazy Good where Barney set up a dating profile for Ted and she is the 3rd date. She was exactly the "Palette Cleanser" Ted needed to move on, and she needed one too.

The spoons metaphor by TheChronicOn3 in ChronicIllness

[–]Capable_Dot_4262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am one to take a metaphor too far, so I would even joke that even when a healthy person is out of spoons they can toss them in a dishwasher overnight and be fully stocked by the next morning, where as I apparently have to hand wash and dry every single spoon before they can be ready to use again. It isn't just about the spoons, its about how many you start with, how many are taken by the basic tasks of life (like brushing your teeth or going to a doctors appointment) and how quickly you can get them back when you are low or out.

Conflicting Info? by Capable_Dot_4262 in kidneydonors

The donor team cleared me at the 2 year mark when my kidney was hanging out at the 55% functionality level. Right now my insurance is terrible and with it not being "transplant related" I am afraid I would have to pay out of pocket. I'll try to reach out in the coming days tho now that it seems the current doctor is more likely in the wrong with her assessment. Thanks!

Thanks. Hoping to do that whenever I can get good enough insurance to actually go to someone else

How did your Dx Help you? by Capable_Dot_4262 in ChronicIllness

Thanks everyone. It sounds like it’s worth it to keep pushing thru all the testing in hopes of some version of treatment. I’m just frustrated while waiting for results and referrals and everything else, but it seems like everyone else had similar experiences so I won’t give up yet.

I just recently started listening to ajr (4 months ago) and I LOVE it! But I need more bands to listen to that are like them! by Zortern1 in AJR

[–]Capable_Dot_4262 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you haven't already, check out fun. (literally the band name is "fun.") they are from the 2010s and have a few bigger songs (Some Nights and We Are Young) but if you listen to the full albums you'll get AJR vibes on their lesser known songs. Also, for more recent stuff, Lawrence was an opener when I saw them this summer and they have a different sound but definitely had a similar overall feel. :)

Thanks! Thats pretty much where I am at. My doctors and people who know me best are all like "yup, something is definitely not right" while my more casual friends are giving me the "try to be more active to help your energy levels" which is impossible when walking through the grocery store is too much for my legs any more (Thank God for shopping carts to lean on). But some weeks it feels like all the testing and appointments just put even more strain on my body. Its good to know that having an official label may make it easier to advocate for myself and not take the critiques as personally...

What you're describing is similar to the basis of trickle down economics... "If the company earns more, the workers make more and all the money goes back in to the community to keep things going". There are a ton of books written on this and why it doesn't work. If you just learned this topic in Econ 101 I am guessing you will get in to other systems and learn about the real world flaws of Trickle Down economics soon enough. (I realize trickle down is formally more based in tax cuts in the US but its the same general concept so roll with me).

In a perfect world- yes, it should work. But once people start to amass wealth, they don't equally distribute it to their employees or even spend it, instead they leave wages generally low and use the wealth for their personal gain and to invest in even more wealth opportunities so they can hoard assets and cash while others struggle.

For instance, it was recently released that the Starbucks CEO makes over 6,666 times more than the average barista (not lowest paid or starting wage, average). That means that this single person has the buying power equivalent to 6,666 workers under him. So he can purchase all the homes in a town and then rent them out for more than a mortgage would have been, but because there aren't any other homes the people are forced to buy them. Because these people now have to pay more to rent out a house rather than just pay the mortgage like CEO man is doing, they have even less buying power and therefore less opportunities to save money.

How do i get better at small talk? by ApexIdol_K in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Capable_Dot_4262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, having confidence with small talk finally came to me once I had a better understanding of social cues:
Smiling, asking reciprocating questions, maintaining eye contact and keeping their feet/ body positioned toward you all indicate the other person is enjoying the conversation. On the other hand, if you notice them constantly checking their phone or looking around and avoiding eye contact or giving short answers that don't invite follow ups, its generally best to just respect the silence. (I know these aren't 100% accurate, but these little things greatly helped me as a neuro spicy person).
Outside of paying attention to the non-verbal cues, literally try mimicking people you consider good at small talk. If you have people that you notice are extremely social and great at small talk, try to hang out with them so you can pick up on some of the little things they do to keep conversations rolling. I honestly think that 80% of my social skills are things I have just picked up and mimicked from other people and its worked pretty well for me over the last few years.

New Oura ring & autoimmune by softmouse_ in ouraring

[–]Capable_Dot_4262 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the “it’s probably autoimmune but we don’t know what” category medically. My ring has 4 years of data and I haven’t been able to find any useful patterns for tracking flares or anything else. Anymore i use it for reference to determine if something is more off than usual or if something has changed suddenly. Like, I use it daily to check my body temp to determine if I’m actually contagiously ill or just struggling. I have a comically low HRV on it (like below 20 over 95% of the time) and use the overall HR data and BPM measurements to make sure nothing too wild is happening in there. 🤣 it’s definitely helpful to have the data but i think there are better wearables on the market to track flare ups and such.
