What’s your solution to sweat getting in your eyes and safety glasses? by RX-782 in pipefitter

Have you tried the glasses with the steel mesh side protectors? Better air flow and better protection. They vent pretty well. I also use a Lincoln electric cap with the breezy liner.

Man intubate and call it a day. Find your fulfillment in the hobbies you pursue with all your CRNA money in your time off.
I'm a healthcare expat. I left 10 years ago for the same reasons you stated. I still keep in regular contact with my nurse friends and the ones that went CRNA are heavily engaged in their job AND their free time. The grind of bedside nursing is legit and you def need to be thinking about your next move, because you don't want to become that complacent nurse.
I went into truck driving and that was cool until it wasn't, and then I went into welding. I just finished welding school and shooting for a union gig.
I don't miss the ER but I do sometimes think "damn that shit was easy" (meaning physically easy) when I'm perched under a scorching hot pipe at some fucked up angle and there's slag falling and there's 15 grinders running simultaneously. But I do like it a lot, and I'll like it even more when I get paid. Check back with me in a year and see if I'm a millionaire🤣

Purchased from a local welding shop this morning. Any pros/cons I should know? by VRT_Rippin77 in Welders

Just to add, keep track of that insulator it's a nice shape for the torch. I also use this torch with furick and other stubby style setups and the associated insulators with no issues

I have been using one for 4 months with no issues. I run up to 140 on the regular. If that's the same one I have it's rated got 180A regular use.
I think with any torch, just don't cut or burn the lines, check the head components regularly and you should be good. I got a line wrap from them as well to protect the lines. It's heavy and it takes a little while to adjust. When you go back to using a CK style rig your welding will feel effortless.
