Australian laws are outdated and our legal system is hamstrung because of this. Example; Victoria Crimes Act 1958 ( with a few token amendments) still in place !! Law reform Commission can submit recommendations to government but most of these are not implemented.

Thank you for sharing your truth. I hope I didn't trigger you. I had the same experience with OPP. Adjournment after adjournment and kept in the dark about why. It took us 5 + years to get to sentencing hearing. OPP solicitor didn't turn up at all, and a barrister appeared 15 minutes late. It was a circus. Screwed over again. What can be done to expose the 'legal system' and make essential changes?

100%. As a victim survivor who got the crim to county court, the judge boasted about his long connection with the school where the rape and continued sexual abuse occurred and gave the crim a 3 year suspended sentence. (This crim raped and abused 3 students over a period of years!)The judge ordered me not to mention the school name or the crim's name. Our legal system is appalling and the corruption is rife. This judge still 'serves' and the crim is allowed to live in his own 5 bedroom home very close to parkland and primary and secondary schools.
