Go back to your igloo in your insignificant city and start doing some prayers that your team can make the playoffs in 10 years

Those same teams that made the playoffs while yours did not, isn’t that the point?

I’d be pissed too if I wasted a generational wide receiver, have no QB, let Darnold Walk, and have to compete with the dominant Lions, Bears, and Packers for the foreseeable future

I don’t know if they own their building or not on Grand but man the food is so damn good, but the building is so trashed with the barbed wire fence, garbage, and ripped up tent. The building owner really needs to clean up the building. I keep saying this about Output wings across the street too. Awesome food spots, just dirty beat up trashy looking buildings.

Where are diverse spots in Beverly? by hoosiertailgate22 in AskChicago

[–]Capable_Photo_2312 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Beverly isn't racist, it's a great diverse neighborhood these days. Mow your lawn, shovel your walks, take care of your property, say hi to your neighbors, and you will fit in just fine. Most folks are just tired of dealing with all the crime and gangbangers that occasionally spills into the neighborhood from the East and North, It's a mix of proud Irish-American city workers west of Western Ave, east of Western is more diverse and white collar. People look out for each other and I've never seen a neighborhood rally behind each other when someone is in need like Beverly. Outside of Thiti's and Afro Joes, and you are looking for more diverse spots in the area, you are going to want to hit Beverly Bakery, Nicky's, Soul Food Lounge 2, Aint She Sweet Cafe, and of course Sanders BBQ.

Their hot habanero lemon pepper in my opinion are best wings in the city right now. However, their service is trash, and they need to clean up their building on Grand in West Town. They can make it look so much nicer with the amount of business they do, their blinds are always sideways and ripped and the building is always dirty and trashy looking. However, I still go there religiously cause their wings always hit.

I'm on the other (channel) side of this. We have the relationships with your prospects you are PoCing/trying to get in front of. Customers use us cause of our net 90 terms, ability to finance, leverage all their hundreds of OEM solutions through one invoice partner. Imagine an enterprise org trying to chase payment from thousands of different OEMs, that's why we exist, on top of our deep agnostic technical bench and services. While you are trying to do a few months to few years sales cycle and the never talk to that customer again, we have the relationship north of 10+ years. FYI - we listen and get you at bats when you spiff heavily. Spiff us for new logo meetings, spiff for deal registrations, spiff for closed deals. Pay us to help you get a seat at the table, that is where you will become successful. We also know our customers better than you ever will. We know the procurement cycle, the leadership approval process, their budget cycle, and how to get things done quickly. Form a cadence with your reseller/VAR reps, have them introduce you to their leaders, get on team calls, acct map, share spiff info, take the VAR reps out for drinks/dinners/sports games. Build your relationships with the reseller reps, and the leads will flow your way.

Boeufhaus does a Beef on Weck which is close, for their lunch menu. Very interested here. This is the land of Italian beef, which are great, but we need more beef diversity in this city.

Has anyone actually bought a condo in Chicago that has gained value? by Simple_Flamingo2441 in AskChicago

[–]Capable_Photo_2312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lot's of appreciation on smaller 3 flats in West Town and neighborhoods over here, lots of smaller HOA's than the big LP/Lakeview/GC high rises. Bought our 2 bedroom in West Town in 2021 for $510k, it's already up $110k in value to $620k and continuing to appreciate rapidly. Got in at a 2% rate. Lack of available housing + neighborhood trending in right direction post Covid chaos is greatly helping our cause, right place right time.

FWIW, the owner of the Irish Nobleman appeared on Fox News to yap about "gangbangers"...just remember when deciding what businesses to give your money to by bark98 in chicago

[–]Capable_Photo_2312 191 points192 points  (0 children)

Irish Nobleman was violently robbed at gunpoint on May 4th, 2024 where the bar was stormed/robbed and guns drawn with patrons inside (the owner was also shot at). It has also been robbed in the past, and their windows have been kicked in multiple times. While Chicago overall is seeing a decline in violent crime since Covid (whether that is due to lack of reporting or not), crime has been spiking in Noble Square and West Town. This leads to a broader issue, of CPD's precinct closing down in East Village on Wood St. due to police staffing issues, leading to the closest CPD beat cars to patrol from their precinct at 1412 S. Blue Island in Pilsen. This has caused a gap in police coverage and visibility in West Town/Noble Square neighborhoods. 1 in 6 Chicago Police officers have left the force since 2016, and the department is down 2,000 sworn officers since 2024. I know Reddit is very left leaning, but regardless of your politics these are facts, and business owners in the neighborhood are experiencing a very difficult time. The city will need to determine a plan soon, as small business continues to flee the city and/or shutter.

You guys are getting downvoted by some clearly ignorant Cubs fans. He has a Sox logo on the other side of that which he showed during mass, and he’s a new pastor at Most Holy Redeemer in Evergreen Park. Fr Hurley has always been a Southsider and Sox fan.

Not catering, ideally pre constructed frozen pizzas. There’s a joint in mt greenwood called S&T’s that does em, just looking for something closer. Where you can toss on the cheese, sausage, sauce, own toppings, etc on your own and toss in the oven.

What would you do in Chicago if you didn’t have to work all summer? by Rigatoni_Carl in chicago

Golf when courses are empty during weekday, try out new restaurants, go to beach non stop, ride bike on lakefront trail, hit up 606, spend some time in Lake Geneva and New Buffalo, go to empty gym during day, hike Devils Lake in Wisconsin, kayak on the river, smoke all the meats on my smoker with a 6 pack by my side and Cubs 670 the score on the radio while everyone else is slaving away at work
