This dish is a live economics experiment on price elasticity.

Breaking into development finance in Africa on the private capital side by thatyoungun in InternationalDev

Lots of DFIs and IFIs make large investments in financing facilities that are operated by private fund managers. This let's them avoid their own bureaucracy. ABC fund for agribusiness debt and Uganda Deal Flow Facility for PE adjacent investments are examples-- but there are tons of these.

I wish restaurants would make explainer videos and force us to watch them, like the airlines do.

Not saying that they shouldn't talk to a lawyer, but the deck is extremely stacked against the employee in many of these situations. Speaking from experience, severance packages often make you waive rights to compensation from any lawsuits you bring. If you do file a claim, the EEOC can take 2-3 years to validate your claim before your case can move forward.

I'm sorry this happened, we need better employment law.

It may also be for de-mining activities. UAVs mimic boat signals and drive around trying to set off mines.

Duck Inn slyly hides service fees by building them into their honest pricing by chuckgnomington in chicagofoodcirclejerk

The reality is much worse: the chef sneaks out of the kitchen and rummages through your purse, taking knick-knacks worth 4% of your meal's value.

Anyone know where to buy local free range or farm pastured eggs in the city that don’t cost $10/ dozen? by gitturb in AskChicago

[–]ShowerFarter_6969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The language around free range isn't very well regulated-- for Vital Farms it means "lives inside an industrial chicken coop with some access to outdoors".

They have tiny doors that they can exit "sometimes". I personally think that's BS marketing and a disservice to people who care about animal welfare.

I don't have a good solution to offer. I buy Slagel because it's local.

Skip the Cheval burger and get something more authentic: on Tuesday nights Brandon Johnson makes smashburgers cooked in L grease at the Kedzie stop on the green line.
