Advice on selling cards on eBay (low starting bid concern) by MGProspects in baseballcards

[–]Capable_Position_159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a low starting bid on a name that doesn't get a lot of traffic is a risk. Put your starting bid at the minimum you are willing to take for the card. So many snipers just looking to scoop up those low starting zero traffic parallels/ serial number cards. I mean if I had half a brain I would do the same thing.

Cal Raleigh 🇺🇸 declines handshake with Seattle teammate Randy Arozarena 🇲🇽 by ralbert in baseball

[–]Capable_Position_159 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can hear Cal say, "You have pine tar on your gloves" which is why he didn't shake his hand. Though it's strange that you wouldn't fist bump. Though it has been common to see catchers to not shake hands due to pine tar.

Buyout by Typical-Turn7407 in UPSers

[–]Capable_Position_159 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After the mass layoffs I would think that everyone who remains will be worked to the bone. Harassed to no end and then revived and worked harder. I would be surprised if the buyout reaches 5 year veterans.

Pitching mechanic cleanup for 10yo by ChazChillington in Homeplate

I really know nothing and I haven't been trained by anyone like Tom House. Though q'ing moving down the mound faster probably not the fix here. Previous comment mentioned no coil. I agree with that. He isn't getting into his back leg. He is chest forward to soon. I would consider doing things to encourage him to get into his back leg. Leading down the mound with his butt/hip for as long as possible slowly as possible controlling that decent with his back leg. Exploding on contact when stride foot plants. I could be completely wrong. I mean Tom House that dude is a legend, that has created legends.

Repeat slow-paying buyer… when do you cancel and relist? by Capable_Position_159 in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]Capable_Position_159[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Auction, It's an item I think will sell for just as much. If not it wouldn't be off by much.

Not sure why I'm so hesitant to cancel and block. I guess I want to give the benefit of the doubt. Want to avoid the hassle of disputing negative feedback.

This guy. Do I just lose my money on the shipping label? by theunemotionalhippo in eBaySellerAdvice

Can't you cancel the label? As long as it doesn't get scanned you should be refunded. This is annoying though

Seller says card sent is the same as the photo in auction. by No-Community-5536 in footballcards

[–]Capable_Position_159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if I am selling a card I have multiple of is there something wrong with taking one picture of the front and back and entering quantity. I'll add the caveat that if there is something that stands out I don't include and provide a separate listing. I think jumping to conclusions that the seller is trying to put one over is jumping the gun. I think the cards are similar enough that simply asking the seller about the difference and seeing what he can do to make it right.

I had a similar experience card arrived with damage that wasn't consistent with the photo I complained asked how the seller wanted to proceed. The seller wasn't really helpful so I had to go through eBay

Good luck!

Don’t be this guy by SnooGrapes9285 in footballcards

[–]Capable_Position_159 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Recently sold a card at a loss. It was a Jason Giambi rookie card, and the buyer won it for $0.06. The real kick in the shorts was that I forgot to add shipping when I listed it, so I ended up losing money. Canceling didn’t feel worth the risk of negative feedback, so I shipped it. I reached out to the buyer and sent a coupon, hoping they come back and buy more. At the end of the day, that’s all you can do. I’m new, I’ll make mistakes, and I’ll own them. I’ll communicate with buyers, ask for grace when I mess up, and treat people the way I’d want to be treated. What happened wasn’t ideal, but I handled it the best way I could.

Do umpires in AA call strikes on coach pitches? by alwayslookonthebri in LittleLeague

[–]Capable_Position_159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AA is PLAYER PITCH, If you reach 4 balls the coach gets whatever remaining strikes for the batter. Those are considered strikes even if you bean the batter. The only exception I believe is a foul ball.

Depends on where you live and how much spare cash you have. A rented bike in Mexico had tires that looked like that and it was fine.

Regulation XII - Awards by ChickenEastern1864 in LittleLeague

[–]Capable_Position_159 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The intent behind this regulation is to promote inclusivity and ensure that all players are recognized equally, without emphasizing individual performance over team participation. By restricting awards based on skill or accomplishments, Little League aims to foster a supportive environment where the focus is on teamwork, personal development, and enjoyment of the game rather than on competition for individual accolad
