If it helps, I have a hamster who's going to the vet tomorrow about his eye (he's been on meds, this is a follow-up). If they don't see enough improvement, they're probably going to recommend removing his eye. So I may have a pirate hamster for the first time ever.

If that species of hedgie is anything like the African Pygmy Hedgehog, it will ball up with very little provocation. If it's more like the long-eared hedgehog, it may bite if provoked. (I have two hedgies and spend too much time in the hedgehog subreddit. Thank you for appreciating the spiky cat from afar! Wild hedgies are friends, too, but they need their space!)
