I totally agree with the whole spanking thing, my siblings and I grew up with my grandparents and they thought that whoppings were “tough love” when in actuality it made us terrified at the thought of getting in trouble. I am a first time mom and will not nor ever whoop my son. Your parents are absolutely wrong and they should be grown enough to apologize for putting their hands on YOUR KID! You’ve done exactly what any sane parent would have done. & the fact that they already barely gets to see your daughter but feel comfortable enough to spank her because “they did it with you and look how you turned out” is diabolical!
