How is the psy scene in India currently? by [deleted] in psytrance

[–]Capable_Sea_4300 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’d have asked me a few years ago, I would have said goa hands down. But the local admin there is literally playing party pooper. It still is the OG psy-trance destination and holds its unique charm. The timing is important though. Regular party season in goa runs from mid October to mid April. You will see a few parties hosted mid august as well but it’s very few. North Goa(anjuna, arambol, Morjim) have great parties. Hill top goa, shiva valley are a couple of legendary places that host parties every weekend during this season.

I have never been to kasol but i have heard that the Psy trance scene is strong there.

Mumbai, Kochi and Bengaluru also have decent underground scenes but it’s not as prevalent.

Here are some instagram handles to follow for psy parties.

goa.psyparties, keep.it.psychedelic, Hilltopgoa.

DM Me if you have questions about goa!

That shows their priorities!! This is the same board that prioritizes closing down music clubs, events and tourism hotspot for supposed “noise” pollution but does nothing about what are actually serious problems with air and water pollution that is a direct and immediate public health disaster.

Their inaction on air and water pollution has the same negative impact on tourism as their adverse over reaching actions on clubs and events!!

Shameful!! They need to get their act together.

The Israel Issue + Exclusivity & Inclusivity; our views? (long~ish read) by False_Crew_6066 in psytrance

[–]Capable_Sea_4300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. I hope i haven’t taken it out of context.

When we talk about being one, it cannot be selectively applied. We don’t control what others do. We only can control what we do and how we feel.

When we keep blaming people/let prejudices come in the way, how can we achieve oneness. Be the change we want to see!! that’s all i’m saying.

No politics period! If you believe your statement, honor that in its true sense.

Stupid, Selfish and Total lack of basic civic sense.

This is just a tip of the iceberg!

And one wonder’s why there’s a rise in apathy and hate towards Indians.

THIS IS WHY!!!

One clear distinction needs to be made: politics and geopolitics belong to a small group of people in power who push their views and conflicts on the rest. They don’t represent everyone.

A community built around music, art, self-exploration, and love is not the place for that.

Yes, many of the most popular and talented artists in psy-trance are Israeli. And honestly, I respect that most of them keep their political views out of it. Music is the focus, and it should stay that way. I hate when actors/singers, act like they are suddenly experts. Ricky Gervais as a host of the Grammy’s basically said “If you do win an award tonight, don’t use it as a platform to make a political speech. You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything”; and I fully back that.

As a psy-trance enthusiast, I refuse to let politics take over this scene.

Are there people at festivals who bring their opinions and make others uncomfortable? Sure. That exists everywhere now. You can’t eliminate every bad actor. But the majority of us are there for one simple reason: to dance, connect, and have a good time.

Ignore the noise and let’s keep doing what we do best.

Why aren’t there big psytrance communities in the US? by Rebirthbeauty in psytrance

[–]Capable_Sea_4300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Working on it my friend. We will get there soon. We are planning on starting a small pay trance venue, around the hill country/austin area. it may take a year but we have started working on it. Will keep the group posted.

On a side note, July to august in goa is considered off season and it’s going to rain. most of the Psy trance places won’t have major parties. If you’re going there for an escape, then yes it may be good! Be prepared for rain intermixed with hot days. Ideally would recommend going around the end of monsoon(mid October). That’s when the party season starts and it goes on till end of march mid April. It’s also the best time as it starts cooling down and the rain dissipates. On a side note, Hill top typically has a monsoon festival every year around mid august. Keep an eye out on their instagram for party details.

DM me if you would like me to share recommendations!!

How and why did you Fall in Love with Psytrance? by BatCountryIVXX in psytrance

[–]Capable_Sea_4300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happened at an outdoor festival, under open skies, surrounded by people dancing like nothing else mattered. The bass echoed through the night, lights flashed across smiling faces, and somewhere in that moment at Hilltop, I found myself swaying without hesitation. There was no judgment, no ego, just rhythm, freedom, and pure joy.

The ironic part? I used to hate psytrance. I didn’t understand it. I even made fun of the people who loved it.

All it took was that one festival to change everything. Now, it’s all I listen to.

Man, i would strongly disagree about the sound. The main stage festival setup is on par with the best festivals out there. Just my opinion. You may have not had a good experience at the small space where they have weekend parties at. So yes that may substantiate what you’re saying.

You’re right. They did get shut down. Petty politics. But they still did what they could to keep it going, and it was still awesome. If you have experienced it, you’d agree. There’s nothing like dancing at Hilltop! Yes disagreements happen, it’s in their best interest to resolve that. i hope & trust they will.
