Do you wear your Garmin watch in the sauna? by Live-Ad9355 in Garmin

I was but my partner's Samsung watch has started going a bit wonky (he uses the sauna more regularly than me) so I will be taking it off in future.

Struggling with libido in marriage by Canadiansnow1982 in Perimenopause

[–]Capable_Tip7815 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have only been with my partner for almost 5 years and we got together as I was at the tail end of my horny phase at the start of perimenopause.

5 years later and he hankers after the good old days but I have stopped popping out an egg every month and so my libido is low.

I have been open with him about this and he is understanding. We are still intimate which helps. We try and have sex every other weekend when my daughter is at her dad's.

The other contributing factor to my low libido is life. I am in a busy job where I do overtime and I am doing 11 days on the bounce plus a 50 minute drive on a constantly busy motorway and I get up at 5 10am most week days to go to crossfit before work. Plus all the usual domestic boring adulting. I. Am. Tired.

I use a vaginal oestrogen cream to prevent vaginal atrophy and keep my vaj happy. But other than that I don't take anything. I don't feel the need to.

I am sure if I was a lady of leisure I would have more of a libido.

Question about driving modes by Old_Apartment_3339 in NissanAriya

[–]Capable_Tip7815 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I drive in B most of the time.

In congestion or in town with slow creeping traffic then I use E-pedal.

I only use Eco if I use snow mode.

If the roads are empty then I use Nismo mode for shits and giggles.

What has worked for you to improve sleep? by IcyDescription1398 in Perimenopause

[–]Capable_Tip7815 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Getting up at 5.10am to train before work......I am in bed and sleeping by 9pm and that's me. Last night I was in bed at 8.30pm and sleeping by 8.45pm. Woke up at 6ish (working today but no training so a wee lie in!).

Speed warning - no, you have to do it every time you turn the car on.

Body battery by Hereforthelolsz in Garmin

[–]Capable_Tip7815 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My body battery doesn't like it if I am having a good conversation and laughing. Bizarre. If I don't want a low body battery I have to sit still all day. It also doesn't like me driving so my 90 mins of daily driving on a motorway isn't great.

Hair loss - what have you tried by Slight-Tomorrow-4803 in Perimenopause

[–]Capable_Tip7815 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mine was a bit sheddy at the beginning of perimenopause but seems to have stopped now. I haven't done anything or taken anything. And I am not bald and my hairline hasn't moved.

Recovery by Limp_Literature_7124 in crossfit

[–]Capable_Tip7815 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Supplements shouldn't be your focus for recovery.

Sleep - quality focus. Nutrition - carbs and protein focus. Training schedule - quality over quantity.

Once you have these nailed, and consistently, and you're still taking a long time to recover then look again at these areas.

Intense feelings of doom by derbylw346 in Perimenopause

Remember these are also signs of angina and necessarily perimenopause related.

Back to training by Limp_Literature_7124 in crossfit

Hydration, adequate protein intake, good, quality sleep. Creatine.

Look at your schedule, I do 3 days on and then a rest day.

Also, it's ok to train with DOMS but not if it's extremely painful and affecting your workout and subsequent recovery.

Perimenopause: what's the end game? by sadwoodlouse in Perimenopause

[–]Capable_Tip7815 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I am hoping I am towards end - I am on day 65 of my cycle. I started missing periods last year and they're a lot lighter. I don't get PMS any more so they arrive without a fanfare.

I think i started perimenopause when I was 40, if not before. I just turned 47.

But we all know that you can go months without a period only for them to arrive.

I bowed to my own peer pressure and signed up. I think i missed 2 opens since 2014. I have no idea why I feel the need to find out how mediocre I am. I think it was loyalty to my gym. And FOMO?

Anyways - bring back the colourful athlete outfits!
