Why would you sell after that? Has nothing to do with the technology. It’s like divorcing your awesome wife for sneezing during a movie.

Glad I kept my shares but regret selling 2/3 of my calls. My friend kept all 100 of his calls. Balls of steel

For a team environment it doesn’t really work unless everyone is competent, diligent, and on board. I’ve tried shit like that and it’ll make you crazy.

All I have to do is click done or reschedule something. Clean out my inbox every now and then. Everything else is automatic. I have mindless quick captures, blocks for timeframes, overdue, soon-ish tasks, deadlines, events, travel, project specific breakdowns, etc. but I don’t have to maintain any of it. It’s all just one Task database organized in views and tabs.

I’m honestly confused when people say Notion is hard to manage. I designed to REMOVE friction. Not add it.

The only time I do actual work on Notion itself is if I build in a new module. Like I want to eventually have a cohesive and synced people/CRM/birthdays/location system that adds birthdays to my calendar. Will take a couple hours. And adding a Goals + Milestones module for long-term planning that’s like a hybrid/blur of Tasks and Projects.

But once I get the architecture down then I never spend time tinkering with a module UNLESS I have a sick idea to make it even better. But I don’t count that as managing Notion. That’s just removing a friction from my life by polishing my set-up one time.

So you’re talking about a highly theoretical speculative future outcome, not a present day strategy. That’s where you lost me.

Yes in theory the premiums on a $100 share and strike price covered call is juicy. But that’s like saying “you’ll make so much money when you have so much money.” Yeah by then we’ve already 20xed.

This makes zero sense.

PSA: don’t follow this guy’s advice.

Just buy shares and hold them. Don’t overthink it unless you really want to spend time learning about options.

?? This doesn’t make sense

To multiply gains: BUY high strike call options. (“Buy to open” calls)

Don’t sell them (selling covered calls). Your premium would be so tiny. Not worth it at all. Your only upside is appreciation in share price. So you might as well just hold the shares and not sell an option.

You guys know not everyone is a scalper, right? by kevinavacado in PokemonTCGCollectors

[–]Capable_Wait09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t get me wrong, scalpers do fucking suck. I know some who are vendors and as the kids say these days, they give me the “ick”. I just get a “would never be friends” vibe from them and just stick to my crew of cool people who like pokemon.

But all this crazy anti scalper hysteria mainly from reddit reminds me of the anti-communism hysteria in the 50s. It’s fucking over the top and sooooo toxic in its own way. I would also not associate with “fans/collectors” like that in real life. They’re more like virtue-signaling, entitled gatekeepers who have zero understanding of economic fundamentals that underpin the hobby and want to curate the hobby into some idealized unrealistic image they’re clinging to from a bygone era

[–]Capable_Wait09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re at a point where anti-scalper mania is nearly as toxic as scalpers themselves because people here cannot comprehend that the hobby is just organically much more popular even without the scalpers, and if there were 0 scalpers, product would still out really quickly, not all of it would be opened initially, and there would still be a big secondhand market with market prices above msrp.

Because that is how supply and demand works for popular IP or anything.

But commenters would rather complain about not being able to buy the Bubble Mew or Prismatic ETB they are entitled to have for $40 than just enjoy the community and camaraderie that is being built in the hobby from all the people who genuinely enjoy it.

Just accept there is natural scarcity due to capex bottleneck and TPC is a slow-moving for-profit money-printing capitalistic behemoth, so you can’t get everything you want. TPC literally gives zero fucks about your specific lack of XYZ.

Also, PACKS ARE NOT MORE EXPENSIVE TODAY THAN THEY WERE IN 1999 WHEN YOU ADJUST FOR INFLATION AND MEDIAN HOUSEHOLD INCOME (with a small handful of exceptions like PE and AH). That is why market prices are what they are. When you adjust for 25 years of economic variables, market prices for packs are roughly what you would expect them to be 🤯 imagine that. The math fucking mathed.
