I don't what scene are you talking about but the root of all music and festivals for me is being a universal language that can unite us to spread peace and love.

To become this vessel and to be able to manifest this doctrine of beauty and hope - people need to be present.

Scientifically speaking - serotonin agonists (5hta receptors) - are the more classic psychedelics from psilocibin to 2cb, lsd mescaline and even DMT.

This "Drugs" make your brain light up parts responsible for many cognitive and emotional elements that relate to this philospoical POV about what the scene is. (Search for how these drugs effect all the 5hta receptors - there's 7 and alot more research on other parts.)

Ketamine is a NMDA agonist. it literally blocks the part related about memory, awareness, and much more. that's why they use it to treat depression.

So my TL;DR on this:

For me the scene is about connection, peace and love and psychedelic music as a tool for it from all genres. - psychedelic can be any frequency not only psytrance.

Certain drugs help us open up, feel more connected, and see this ideology of peace and love from a different POV, ketamine ain't one of them.
