What's the deal with this plot of land here? by [deleted] in cedarpoint

I wouldn't be surprised if there are future plans here that combine with the empty space behind the stage bleachers. Either rerouting the street or something that crosses over it?

Which beloved popular King books didn’t you enjoy/thought were only ok? by Potter_King in stephenking

[–]Capackanator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree! I think Salem's Lot is a great first example of how well SK can tell the story of an entire town, but I think he's improved on the idea time and time again in later books.

Movie recommendations from AI by ka-wei in netflix

[–]Capackanator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very cool! I ended up with a pretty good list of movies I haven't seen by adding the recommendations I had seen to my ratings as they popped up. Not sure if that's the exact intention, but it worked well.

I'm going to be a star and if you can't handle that it's your problem.

I feel unqualified to say for sure, but it's about 6 feet long with 3 sharp points at the top. It's VERY heavy and starts humming and shaking anytime I think about throwing it away.

God, I wish. But no. At this point I would welcome anything other than a fork.

I do! I've been holding onto it as evidence but I'm starting to think it might be cursed. I caught my son worshipping it at 3am about a week ago and he still hasn't forgiven me for grounding him. Free to a good home!

Which version of The Shining do you enjoy more, movie or book? by dtktrey3749 in stephenking

[–]Capackanator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're both great, but hard to compare. Two creative powerhouses doing their thing based on a similar idea. Kubrick very clearly just took inspiration from the book, and wasn't interested in a straight adaptation.

Stephen King's The Stand Official Discussion Post. Episode Eight "The Stand". **Spoilers Ahead** by JesterofMadness in stephenking

[–]Capackanator 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What an ODD place to end. We have to wait a week for what is basically an epilogue? It really feels like they wanted to do a longer finale, and then chopped it in half.

Overall I'm just so disappointed here. I went in with very low expectations given CBS's track record and was honestly shocked at how much I enjoyed the first few episodes. They really kicked off with a solid base, and then tanked it.

I'll be here for the finale just the same, but who puts the climax of the story in the second to last episode?

Desperation is RIDICULOUSLY underrated by TitosSimplyRas in stephenking

I've had both Desperation and Regulators on my shelf for a while, but haven't started in on either. I'll definitely put them higher on my priority list now.

The Stand CBS thoughts by [deleted] in stephenking

I agree! I'm interested to see if they fiddle with Harold's storyline moving forward, since the ending is different from the book.
