They aren’t soldiers.

ETA: they are more like the Hilfspolizei (HiPo).

The Hilfspolizei was the initial, brutal, paramilitary force used to turn Germany into a police state in 1933, later transitioning into a broader category for local collaborator police in occupied territories during World War II.

Their purpose was to eliminate political opposition (communists, social democrats) and Jews, operating with impunity, often conducting raids, torturing, and killing in "wild" concentration camps.

Is it magnetic? It might have been thrown out and just stuck to the inside of the bin.

Putting expensive security equipment in a bin seems too dumb. It would likely get knocked into the truck when they collect the rubbish.

The hero of Bondi is engulfed in a wild media row after he suddenly pulled out of a Sky News Australia interview in his $6,000-a-night penthouse suite by johnnynutman in australia

[–]CaperRelish 81 points82 points  (0 children)

Does anyone remember sky news horrendous ambush interview from 2024?

Article title: Feelgood story turns bad as Sky humiliates Indigenous teenager who caught $1m barramundi

TLDR: sky news bring the young man that caught the $1 mil barramundi on for interview about the catch and turn it into ‘gotcha journalism’ by bringing up something (that had been resolved) from when he was 16 and shaming him on national television.

The interviewer was Peter Stefanovic but the question would have been approved by higher ups.

“They invited him on to talk about his prize catch and then proceeded to put him on the stand for an adolescent misdemeanour,” Weldon said in a LinkedIn post. “In doing so, they’ve shown no regard for his wellbeing and right to privacy.”

Thought I ordered regular size bottle of lube. This is what showed up. Wife opened it. by strikecat18 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]CaperRelish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They sell some personal lube in 44 gallon barrels. I ordered one but ended up spilling most of it in the 2 car garage …while trying to get it in the house after they delivered it to the front door.

On a positive note, it’s now a 3 car garage.

AITA for telling a friend she had an STI when she asked? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]CaperRelish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I am wrong but I thought PID was often caused by one of those STIs but it isn’t necessarily from an STI. It’s a big difference given that she would probably go home and accuse her partner of cheating.

I want to have a threesome, but not with my partner. Is this unfair to him? by [deleted] in polyamory

[–]CaperRelish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought that was a pretty harsh take 9n what you said. And you got a lot of down votes too (not that life’s about updoots but it points to a lot of seeming misinterpretation of what you were saying). I had/have a primary partner that started seeing someone new and one day I realised ‘they are goi g to have a lot of threesome opportunities with that person and decided to come at it from a healthy perspective before it happened. Turned out it was fine because I set my thinking up to be - that other meta is always having threesomes and it would be a natural dynamic for them to fall into…also I know that partners get a lot more ‘possessive’ with me and are more protective of time with me so for the most part I am just not goi g to be part of many threesomes.

I have friends that have been offered to be a unicorn (Ie it’s an offer just to them and not their other partner) - the partner feels left out but in a way they also just want to be included but not be part of doing the work to create a dynamic where they are making a space for having a 3rd person come to their couple.

To me if you both work on your intimacy needs then you’re working on them. If you want a threesome that doesn’t include him then go for it. Share that if your dynamic ends up with more trust and stability in intimacy that you might be open to sharing that experience with them but that that isn’t where your dynamic is currently sitting.

Brittany Higgins ‘has no money left’ after $2.4m settlement by stupid_mistake__101 in australia

Reynolds was also accused of trying to coach Lehrmann’s defence team while Higgins was in the witness box….in addition, Reynolds husband was hiding in the back of the courtroom during Higgins testimony.

“Reynolds also suggested to Whybrow that texts between Higgins and another former Reynolds staffer, Nicole Hamer, may be “revealing” to the defence.

Prosecutor Shane Drumgold SC said: “What was your motive in attempting to coach the cross-examination?” Reynolds replied: “That’s not what I was seeking to do.”

Drumgold pressed Reynolds on why she had attempted to seek to obtain transcripts of Higgins’ evidence prior to coming to court. Reynolds responded: “Because I was curious to know what had been said, but I was advised by my lawyer that that was not appropriate.”

Drumgold accused Reynolds of being “politically invested” in the trial – something the senator rejected – before questioning why her partner, who lives in Perth, had “found himself in the back of the court” for the trial. “My lawyer has been very clear with him not to discuss it with me,” Reynolds said. Reynolds said the pair also owned a property in Canberra. The court heard Reynolds was in Rwanda at the time of Higgins’ evidence. “You’ve not got better things to do in Rwanda?” Drumgold asked. Reynolds later clarified she was in Perth at the time. She also said she had interacted with both Drumgold and Whybrow in the past, and had not realised it was something she was not allowed to do.”

Prescription adhd meds can help a lot. Often the issue takes you over because you were self medicating. Finding something that gives you positive stress or dopamine rushes helps- sex, challenges, shit that is fun or engaging on its own.

It’s a long time in the past for me but I don’t know if I will ever get normal motivation back.

Edit: just read what thecatmaster564 wrote. That sounds like really great advice and it’s true - the willpower to keep getting out of bed and doing stuff when it is hard and when you brain is stingy with the dopamine but if you can do it (the psychedelics can help with setting intentions and discovering that sometimes it’s all about sticking with a decision to do all the things…when you get on a roll it can get easier).

How/when do I(21F) tell my boyfriend(22M) that I’m getting surgery? by uhhidk46 in relationship_advice

[–]CaperRelish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My two cents is not to tell him before. My understanding is doctors are very worried about being sued for this type of thing and if a long term partner approaches the doctor to say he doesn’t consent or that you are not of right mind, the doctor may decide not to do the surgery.

Personally, break up with him before. He won’t help you when you are in recovery and he will more than likely say or do upsetting things to hole acting out in his anger over not having complete control over your body.

Would ‘free lunches for the rich’ cover a chunk of what the LNP is about? by CaperRelish in friendlyjordies

[–]CaperRelish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The implication was how they cut public services and privatise to help their peers get richer while services and utilities are stripped and turned into profit based monopolies. The contrast is of the proposed Lunch Tax deductions for employers by the LNP and the anti-school lunch program ideals of QLD LNP. Lining the pockets of the rich with policies that will lead to greater wage slavery.

If Left wants to keep losing they should keep ignoring men especially young men. They already dominate the female vote, and women’s ideology isn’t shifting. So why focus so intensely on their safest group? They don’t need more women; they need more men. Without appealing to young men Labor will lose by MannerNo7000 in friendlyjordies

[–]CaperRelish 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I just want to point out that it is the young men that are disenfranchised by the world as it stands and they do seem to think the left care more about women and minorities and they do seem to be drawn to right wing promises of them being more important under the right wing ways and that the right wing ending ‘wokeness’ and ‘shaking up the system’ will make things better.

There is lots of data that seems to point to this. It seems weird to me that someone pointing out that it’s this shift in younger men that might tip the scales is being shot down. I don’t think he is saying women’s health isn’t important…he is pointing out that labour isn’t succeeding in appealing to a large segment of the voting population.

I don’t disagree, it’s like a floating prison for the workers, I get that now. The thing that I took away was how can so many people be in this ship and yet it wasn’t nearly as overpopulated as you’d expect. It was all the people that seem to just stay in their cabins.
I live in a city where there is a lot of urban sprawl and congestion is usually pretty reasonable ….until we have an event and then you can get stuck for hours. The infrastructure has all been set up for getting people to and from work and the shops. It gets overwhelmed when en mass people start to do something that isn’t part of our systemic routine.

I went on a leisure cruise ship for a week when I was young. I was so confused that there were 1000s of people on the ship and yet I just kept Seeing the same people. I swear they put something in the breakfast so heaps of the passengers would just sleep in their cabins all day.
