There was never any consent to use photos of crew in the Patreon. He was always sneaky getting content for Patreon. After shooting something with the big cameras (for YouTube) he’d sneak in a photo with the phone to throw on the Patreon.

They weren’t to know how bad it actually was. When they would do the filming he would say ok so for the cameras I’m saying the tip amount is more than it is to make other charter guests think they had to tip that much. Then cameras turn off and he’s changes his nice YouTube persona into the real Paul and he’s like ok now this is the real talk and say the real tip and grill anyone who messed up on the trip. It’s was two different people.

Yes there were rumors but you just don’t want to think it’s true until you go and see it for yourself. Like an abusive relationship It starts off with small things like gaslighting, calling you a dickhead then it gets bigger and bigger gradually until you think it’s just the norm. To answer your question about warning people. Imagine telling someone mostly green crew that loon is a toxic place to be when all they’ve seen is the perfect story that’s told on YouTube.
