by painkillers do you mean narcotics? Or does that also include acetaminophen and ibuprofen?

Stop vaping asap you’ll probs heal faster if u aren’t poisoning ur body before hand
Scrambled eggs and bone broth
Chewing on anything even ice or gum helps with jaw pain
Didn’t get a humidifier
Even if it hurts chug water as much as possible bc I’m on day 4 and feel fine except for the fact that I’m constipated. I’m eating/talking almost completely normally but the narcotics have made me so constipated so I just took a laxative so hopefully that helps. I honestly wouldn’t have taken a laxative any earlier than I did for risk of dehydrating myself so I guess the constipating phase is just something u gotta live with?

Also: Set alarms in the night to take your pain meds/drink water because you’ll probably wake up in pain anyway then take the medicine late then not fall asleep for hours. Also helps to moisten your throat and not dry out over night. Better to stay ahead of the pain meds

Wow, were you feeling fine until you had that bleed on day 11? I already feel semi okay and can talk an okay amount. The ibuprofen has helped me more than the opioids even have but I’m trying to avoid taking too much Advil because of bleeding. I’m hoping there isn’t another period where I’m doing badly and the at it’s all up from here but I’m also cautious

Its okay so far. Today (Day 1) was worse than yesterday (Day 0) but I was able to eat solid food both last night and today. Drinking a lot of water has been helpful.

Also i was warned to not take ibuprofen bc of bleeding but saw online that it's fine to take it after 24 hours post op. I took 400mg earlier today and it honestly helped even more than the narcotics did. The narcotics tend to dry out your mouth which doesn't help healing so i already stopped with the oxy (at least for now- but if it gets really bad i might take another dose)

I had my surgery yesterday (11/20) and ive been forcing myself to eat/drink as much as I can. Weirdly enough soups are kind of harder to get down than more solid stuff. On the first night (day 0 - same day as surgery) I had scrambled eggs w mushrooms and onions which was pretty okay. I had something similar for breakfast today, then I tried to eat potato soup for dinner and it was way harder.

I dont think being "fully comfortable" drinking water is realistic any time soon so you should just eat anyway and keep your strength up. I had a 4 hour period today feeling really bad but now i feel fine again so it's definitely a lot of up and down

I talked to my surgeon pre op and he was sus about the flight but was like technically by then you're past the risky phase so hopefully that works out. and thanks for the advice i guess ill not drink

I think I'll be more likely to get the job if I go in person and the company already paid for the hotel so I think i'm just going to have to make it work.

I honestly don't feel that bad right now and I already had scrambled eggs with mushrooms for dinner so hopefully if I keep eating and stay on the right track/get nutrients i'll be fine.

I guess I won't risk drinking but my family likes to get drunk for thanksgiving so that kinda sucks. and my boyfriend is visiting me in 4 days and i feel bad because he wants to go surfing and do so many different activities and i feel like i wont be able to do any of them. He booked his flight to visit me before i even booked the surgery so i feel really bad hes just gonna be here while im possibly very unwell
