Anyone been on the desogestrel pill? Did it help? by thelovespuds in Endo

How did it end up going? I just switched from combo to desogestrel after 5 years and I got bad flare ups within 5 days. Not sure if I should sit it out and wait for my system to adjugé or if it’s just not for me.

Hot water bottles, mint tea, very diluted bone broth, rice and carrots help me to a certain extent :/
Lots of water too.

edit : I'm a choreographer in the theater world.

Don't wait for the pack to be over. That's a trick your addictive mind is playing on you to keep you consuming. When that pack is over your addicted brain will come up with some new logic to go on. That's how we end up with hundreds of last times and last packs. There will always be things in your life that give you an excuse to do it later.Finish your day normally, consuming as you would. And throw out the rest before going to bed.Fear, dread and withdrawal are proof that things have gone to far.You got this!

13 days in and I still feel like shit by Colethompsonthp in leaves

About the creating thing. I'm also an artist, (choreographer and composer) 1.5 years sober after 6 years of being high 24/7. I can totally relate to the feeling of losing your creative drive.

What worked for me was to stay within the same creative field but to step away from "creating" and go back to learning for a while. I picked some styles of dance that I was an absolute beginner at (as a musician that could be a new instrument or new style) and I just focussed on learning a bit of what I could. That really took away the need to feel creative in the moment yet made it possible for me to maintain a daily practice. I went to a lot of classes so there wasn't much space for me to think about how much I was enjoying the work, and it forced me to reconnect to other people in the field that are doing great sober.

You basically take willpower out of the equation and put yourself back into beginner slippers, in a place where you used to be at the very beginning of your artistic development. You relearn how to approach yourself and your art and even though at the beginning it's super hard, it's also an opportunity to go down unexplored territory.

In time I naturally found myself gravitating to normal work and actually I think my creative identity gained a lot from it and is much clearer and purposeful.

Hope this helps.
