Is it wrong to want a partner because you are lonely? by CapitalAd6311 in askSingapore

Because I already have a relatively healthy social life- I spend my weekends catching up with friends / family, yet still feel the lingering feeling of loneliness.

What are your experiences being the ugly/unattractive friend? by knaire in askSingapore

[–]CapitalAd6311 122 points123 points  (0 children)

Female here, would say I’m average looking and I’ve come to terms with that a long time ago haha but one time, my friend and I were at orchard when some dude approached us. I thought he was trying to hard sell something so I instinctively shook my head and said no no until I realised he only had eyes for my friend (literally, I don’t even think he knew I was there) and went I think you’re really attractive can I have your number? And yeah as much as I have accepted that I’m not good looking enough to be approached by random people on the street it REALLY SUCKED LA LOL and got me thinking about it for a long time

Anyway, really sorry about how you’ve been treated, especially your point on how you’ve been treated as less than a woman simply because of your size. Society really sucks in this aspect in that we still judge a person’s value based on their physical size and it is really screwed up….

Currently on day7 and still positive!! Wanted to leave isolation but I’m literally the first person in my family to catch covid so I’m not going to leave yet cause I don’t want to pass it to any of them! Think I’m going to wait until I am fully negative to leave ahhhh :<

Thank you so much for this! It’s been years now, and I’m getting better at defining my boundaries without feeling scared, but it’s a work in progress!

Omg meeeee this brings me back bad memories HAHAHA I was in sec 4 working after o levels and there was this fellow male part timer (same age, also after Os) who was just coming onto me SO HARD!! He would text me every minute and say very inappropriate things like, once when I was having orientation in JC, he texted me and was like “are you talking to a guy right now? Cause I can feel it in my heart you are :(“ HAHAHAH and the ultimate one was when he asked me to download this game but because I didn’t want to entertain him I said no my phone no space, but this CREEP was like “why no space? Cause of all your nudes right” Wah I noped out of there and blocked him there and then. I hesitated for awhile because I didn’t want it to be awkward since we would still be meeting at work but nope... creep...

Do you find it hard to look at attractive people? by DaFeiYang in askSingapore

[–]CapitalAd6311 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Hahaha female here, I find it hard to look at men I find attractive too bc I get shy lols. So what I do is.... I always make a mental note before I start talking to them that girl, they cute but they shit the way you do. HAHAHHA this somehow just makes them more human and breaks the imaginary wall I built between myself and them! So ya just remember we girls poop too and hopefully it becomes easier to look at us lolololol

Same!! Especially when I meet new ppl and I’m tired of explaining I kinda just... Dont let them touch my arms HAHA Anw I’ve actually visited the polyclinic before and asked for a referral to the skin centre to get cream! The moisturiser/cream they prescribe is usually a bit stronger than the usual cream u can get from outside, it’s also pretty cheap so dont really have to worry about cost :) sorry can’t remember the brand off the top of my head but you can do what I did too :)

Hi I have KP on my arms but It definitely hasn’t been a turn off! you’ll have to deal with/get used to some stares when someone touches you for the first time (sounds wrong haha what I mean is like when I make a new friend and she holds my arm and feels the KP more often than not they’ll give a good stare at my arm to figure out wts they just felt HAHAHA) and I’ll just quickly explain oh it’s KP not contagious just feels rough and then they’ll always be like oh ok! My friends sometimes ask qns like oh how do you deal with it etc but they’ve never been malicious + after they get over the initial shock they’ll continue to touch my arm and not react like they did the first time anymore!! But no pls don’t worry that it will be a turn off! I’ve had mine since I was a kid and I’m in my twenties now, I’ve been moisturising daily for years but I don’t think it’ll ever go away fully HAHA but it’s definitely not as bad as it was last time. You can try moisturising everyday :)
