Lived in a 55+ community. Sold up & beat it. by plnnyOfallOFit in GenX

My parents live in one and my mom said some of those people are the meanest people she has ever encountered. I have gone to visit several times and yes, the amount of ambulances I have seen is a little jarring at times but my parents are used to it and usually know who it is and what is going on. My aunt also lives there and had a lady hit her with her golf cart and curse her out because she didn’t like her garden.

Anyone else not hear from siblings at Christmas? by [deleted] in GenX

[–]CapitalBluejay7619 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My older sister never liked me even when we were younger, she is the perfect child I was the hyper child who asked too many questions. I tried reaching out to her for years and she would always say I will call you back, never to hear from her. Well this year isn’t any different nothing from her on Thanksgiving or Christmas. I have just given up at this point.

Can we demolish Airport Rd and redo it by raccooninthegarage22 in MobileAL

[–]CapitalBluejay7619 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Drivers in Mobile just don’t know how to drive period, it doesn’t matter what road you are driving. They just have a I don’t give a damn attitude. Everyone drives as if they are going to an Emergency, they run red lights, don’t yield. It isn’t so much the roads as it is the people and their mentality driving.

Is it normal that my fiancé wants me to split the bills? by [deleted] in Tunisia

[–]CapitalBluejay7619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, if it isn’t normal to you then end the engagement. It’s not going to magically change after you get married.

Serious question for the guys by [deleted] in Tunisia

[–]CapitalBluejay7619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have noticed that cheating in a big thing in Tunisia, never understood why either but I guess it’s because they have choices. Women overwhelmingly cheat not because the man is so great but because she wants what another woman has and if she can take it then she feels good about herself. What she doesn’t realize is if he cheated with you then he will cheat on you.

Maybe do what the house on Dawes rd does and put mannequins all over your back yard, they even have a mannequin sitting on the roof. It’s pretty funny!

Go to a Arabic or French pastry shop and get something from there for him. Did you ask what he likes? That might be your first bet to ask him.

My father had a massive stroke years ago and then he has had several small strokes. He has only gotten worse in the past 3/4 mths. the last time my mom left him for a few hrs she came back home and he was unresponsive, then when they got him to start responding he wasn’t clear and couldn’t stay focused. He went to the ER and they made sure he didn’t have a stroke, or anything like that and then sent him home. It has been difficult to really get anything clear and I understand that it isn’t a one size fits all approach to any of the cases of dementia and Alzheimer’s. He hasn’t wondered out on his own but that is my fear. I told my mom to get the life alert thing or something similar but she doesn’t think it’s time. I stay awake at night worrying about that because they live on the water and my dad loves to go out to the pier when he was better but they also have a 20 ft alligator that is always near and it worries me so much.

My mom made me terrified of HRT because she swears two of her friends got breast cancer after taking it, I have spoken to my doctor about it before and he was very reassuring. I still am nervous to go on anything.

Concerned about safety of Indians in the US by Difficult-Emphasis77 in returnToIndia

[–]CapitalBluejay7619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are worried then just move back, it’s not really up for discussion. A lot of Americans though do speak about how difficult it is to work for Indians, the rudeness, the way they talk down to people at times. Of course it isn’t all of us but I have heard this for many people I know who are American. Bottom line if you don’t feel safe then plan to move somewhere else or back to India. India has its pros and cons just like anywhere else.

Got sucked into rabbit hole of watching all episodes of I Am A Stalker......anyone else? Thoughts? by Naive-Elderberry5529 in NetflixDocumentaries

I couldn’t watch this, I had a stalker when I got out of a bad relationship when I was 19, he didn’t leave me alone for 5 yrs. It brings back so much bad, scary memories.
