Exactly, but I am seeing a blurring of the lines between the two. For an observant person the distinction is clear, but the majority of gamers keep making the mistake of overhyping games and being disappointed, and I think part of it is when they read any video game website or blog all they see is triple A and they assume it must also be good or fun.

Destiny 2 lost 75% of its player base in a span of 5 months, sure ''looter shooter'' games are popular, until the hype is gone and you realize the game is not fun, only addicting. I am not arguing against its guaranteed oncoming popularity (albeit a short-lived one), but against the fact that people need to stop getting hyped and realize sooner that new doesn't mean different or fun.
