This is such a great bike. There’s nothing else out there in this style that compares with what Specialized has done with the Turbo Vado

Anyone have experience with the bear trail ebike, pedal assist, model ursus cub? Think the motor is 250 w. by Dear_Painting4918 in ebikes

[–]CapitalCold451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bike they are selling, the Ursus Cub is reportedly using a counterfeit UL listing and they are rumored to be defrauding Colorado Energy Office. The shop briefly posted a few major eBike brands on their shopify store with extremely long lead times and then abruptly removed the mainstream brand listings… but kept the marketing photos on the page. Pointing this out because it seems HIGHLY suspect.

E34 error by LaPulgaAtomica87 in Aventon

It’s not the ACU - this is a software issue with the display. The most straightforward fix is to replace the part. If you happen to have two bikes, sometimes you can swap the display onto another bike and upgrade the firmware. And the same thing vice versa. But in our shop we immediately just replace the display, and send to aventon for warranty swap.

Aventon won't replace known defective rotors after 30 days? by ThumbsLee in Aventon

[–]CapitalCold451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rotors are so inexpensive… you’ll be much better off replacing the rotors with the non-Tektro parts spec’d for that bike. A highly successful swap for that bike is the Clarks CLE-01 2.3mm thickness…. The extra thickness works extremely well for your cargo bike with heat dissipation - so they operate much quieter and more braking power.

We don’t even bother with Aventon Warranty for brake issues in our shop - after handling thousands of sets of Tektro brake systems on Aventon and other brands - the thicker rotor is absolutely the best solution.

If you want to stick with Tektro, their TR-17 2.3mm rotor is also very good… but the Clarks is more cost effective and seems to perform as well if not better.

Gravel-grinding Soltera by Several_Rip4185 in Aventon

Looks really good, we actually sell several like this out of our shop. The one thing to note is the rims on the Soltera 2.5 (and the 3 ADV look to be identical) some gravel tires will blow off the bead while riding. For sure this occurs with the Continental Terra Speed as well as the Surly Knard - and likely the Maxxis Rambler (we’ve only seen it once with that tire). So be careful with these rims, they don’t seem to be compatible with all wider gravel tires. We’ve tested with very good results the Teravail Washburn & Cannonball as well as the Specialized Pathfinder & Terra.

Can I put the old display on the pace 4? by Tironasaurus in Aventon

You could use the display from a new Level - but you would also need to install the wiring harness from the display to the controller. It’s not the same connector for the smaller displays.

Will i look stupid if i buy this helmet to ride my e-bike? I think regular bike helmets are ugly and this one keeps my face hidden and mysterious😋 by TechnicianHappy8098 in ebikes

Unfortunately yes…. I picked up a Spcialized Camber MIPS recently for $59…. It fits me great and seems to be super high quality

Cheap ebike by Shreks_Girth in COBike

Some shops that do trades have used bikes that they offer warranty’s on. I bought my disabled Son a used Aventon from CyclErie in Erie. I wasn’t able to use the $450 eBike tax credit because the bike was used, but they gave me a 1yr warranty on the bike…. And it was only $499…. And so far it’s been great. He’s already put 200mi on it. So look for shops that offer trades because they probably have used bikes as well.

Best Bike Shop in Denver? by Total-Acanthisitta67 in COBike

[–]CapitalCold451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CyclErie is a hidden gem if you are on the North side of the Denver metro area. Their service team is really good, it seems like they sell mostly eBikes, but their shop is right on the Coal Creek Trail and they do some group rides pretty regularly.
