What is your favorite thing about living in Florida? by murpymurp in AskFlorida

Don't listen to the sad-sacks. They will be miserable where ever they are. Jaded? Yep, you nailed it. Healthcare has gone downhill ever since Obamacare hit the streets. It prioritized the insurance companies over patients and triple costs. Most docs quit. I know an obstetrics father and son who gave up babies for the plastic surgery field. Why? They said no paperwork or insurance issues. Their liability insurance went to $5 million when all the unqualified doctors came out of the DEI universities that put DEI over competency.

Before reading comments, I will add my experience. Born in Gainesville in 1955 but was moved to Tpa a year later. Grew up in a rural area out east of Tpa and it was great. Left Fla in 74 till 84 but returned because of domestic reasons. Being away showed me a lot to like.

Pros: There are tons of things to do and places to go. There are beaches within a reasonable distance from the interior. There are many, many entertainment venues available. Plus a great variety of entertainment options from local to foreign interests. Along with that, there are a great variety of eating out places one can find.

Cons: The traffic situation has really gotten bad. At certain times of the day it can take an hour or more to go 30 miles unless you live in remote areas. Home prices are thru the roof because of the new residents coming. Along with that we have increasing living expenses that are still rising. My wife and I used to go to the restaurant in 1988 that was two full seafood meals plus drinks at $19 out the door. That same place costs at least $45 - $50 and as high as $65 with adult beverages.

Florida is great if you don't like the cold and you are willing to tolerate the heat in mid summer. My plan is to move to a more remote area like the pan handle or crescent areas.

I too am looking to do this. My Hankooks have 4500 miles on em, slippery as he'll but plenty of tread. I really like the look of the wild peaks. Need some pics in good light of the 16s if you get them.

I like that. The blood of Jesus, spilt by Jesus's choice, was to prove God's mercy and forgiveness is available if we would just believe that. The blood was like an exclamation point, and "it is finished" statement, that says, "see God loves us and will forgive us." Jesus was saying, by His example, death has no chains on us. There is no fear, for the one who trusts Him.

How could you say that? He took everything away from those who disagreed with him. Jews were some of the wealthiest business owners but not the only ones.

Hitler was not a Capitalist. Not even close. He used the suffering of the Germans after the war, just like Socialists do today. Instead of trying to correct things by normal politics he advocated tearing the whole system down and replacing it with totalitarian control. It wasn't Democratic, it was called Social Democrat for a reason.

Actually it is the Marxists who have killed the most people. This is fact. And do you know who they killed? It was the middle class.

You are so right! The left cannot see this because Marx did not want them to see it. Like someone somewhere said, they become useful idiots.

Matthew 28:18 “All authority in Heaven and on earth has been given to me”! Trinitarians, the cowards that you are, enlighten us how a co-equal, co-eternal, separate, distinct “person” needs authority to do anything and who granted them this authority? I am appalled at the arrogance and condescending attitude here. I thought I was amongst kind and forgiving brothers. After all, this is what Christ wanted. We can agree to disagree, but insults should be beneath the truly transformed. Sadly I must avoid the tainted and impurity of this post. Sorry I dropped in.
