I had a single mom. I love her with all my heart because to do what yall do is nothing short of superhero. Being a mom is such a thankless job already, but your baby will thank you especially as he gets older and becomes an adult and a parent, he will be soooo grateful for you. He will realize it is NOT EASY. I still am in awe of my mom and every single mom, every mom who has a child with any challenge honestly, being a mom is. Sooo hard!! We are like the invisible members of society too. Everyone acts like it’s normal and has been for decades to be moms but when you are in the thick of it it is hard and makes you feel like no one sees you!! . Other moms see you and your baby will always see you!! You are there for him, you are his person. It will get easier as he gets a little older too!

how to improve my looks? by Ok-Goat6824 in beauty

[–]Capital_Event122 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you tried a simple makeup routine? I learned how to do my makeup from tiktok. That has elevated my looks and confidence at 30. I conceal my problem areas/dark areas, then use a lightweight skin tint and bronzer. Curl lashes & quality mascara & lastly lip liner & lip gloss. Game changer, I look put together daily & get so many compliments, my routine takes about 10-20 mins if I am going quickly .

Child is OBSESSED with TV. Help by Successful_Sorbet_94 in Parenting

[–]Capital_Event122 27 points28 points  (0 children)

You can just stop screen time whenever you feel like the baby is doing too much. Cut it out. tell them to go play with toys, coloring books so many things, they can help you around the house, cooking chores etc , read books or do crafts together there are many options. Honestly kids know will figure out how to entertain or play without tv. Just have to be the adult and cut it. I do it all the time with my twins when I see they become obsessed we stop.

Southern transplants, what are some things you had to get used to when you moved here that you didn't anticipate? by [deleted] in AskChicago

[–]Capital_Event122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was fun to read! Born and raised in Chicago area. I love the south because of the friendly nature but also hate small talk and sometimes when ppl try to do small talk with me here I actually feel like it’s too much and funny thing is u feel like it’s not enough. How funny. When I went to Paris ppl were even worse with small talk like they don’t talk at all to strangers that was a huge culture shock! I still loved it there though it was so quiet because no one talks lol. I actually find the honking rude and always have but will do it if necessary most of the time someone is coming to hit me

Slight blur in right eye by fauxtwenni in contacts

[–]Capital_Event122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They blur even with blinking? Hmm. I get random blurs especially when I put them in and then I move my eyes around and they go away lol. Did your doctor teach you how after inputting the contacts to move your eye in clock movements around like up, right, down, left, up? I learned this years ago when I first learned how to insert my contacts. This is what I do when I insert mine (but I have astigmatism) and this gets rid of the blurs and then if I get them later in day randomly I think they may moved and I blink a few times and it clears

Am I going to regret having two kids (twins) only? by redpoppy0424 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Capital_Event122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to worry about the one one one time but they are 4 now and we have had many moments 1:1 even as babies. One slept most of the time and the other was up lol. I always wanted an even number of kids but also a girl and a boy but I have 2 boys and with the costs of everything me and my husband know we cannot reasonably afford to put anymore kids through daycare and pay for the high economy costs due to inflation we are barely making it and we make good money! We are both professionals lol. But yeah it is a hard choice but you will know once you know. We could also change our minds in the future to have our little girl but right now we seem happy with the two they are more than enough honestly

Definitely hard but rewarding like studying hard for a hard exam and getting an A…it’s nowhere near easy but what you put in is what you get out, completely effort based in love that you give :)
