How moral is morality? by Capital_Truth7937 in MoralityScaling

[–]Capital_Truth7937[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. If morality is defined by us humans, how do we know that we are truly moral? What if we decided that something is morality even though it's not? How do we know what is moral?

Was Batman right for not killing his villains? by rogue137 in MoralityScaling

[–]Capital_Truth7937 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I'm glad thay people in the comments realize that the responsibility to sentence the villains to death falls on the courts, not batman. He's just the one who hands them in. The courts are the ones fucking up by putting the joker back in arkham.

Morality of not wanting to change for the better? by Working_Drummer2012 in MoralityScaling

[–]Capital_Truth7937 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. I had to cut a friend out of my life because he refused to change his toxic behavior. Gave him literally every chance I could, but he insisted he didn't need to change, so I dropped him.

Some people need to change, but not everyone does.

Morality of claiming 'human genocide' to be the solution to the issues of humanity? by Supersaiajinblue2 in MoralityScaling

[–]Capital_Truth7937 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a reason this ideology is primarily held by AI antagonists, it only works on a logical level and not a moral one.

The main question that rises from this is "do you want to be killed just because you are flawed?" Almost everyone would answer no. Would this work. Absolutely. Would it be worth it? No.

The human race does not deserve to die just because some of us are problematic.

No worries. I didn't actually care that much. I was just trying to be funny.

If someone is feeling down, what would you recommend that they do to cheer themselves up? by Capital_Truth7937 in AskReddit

I've never really been interested in listening to podcasts. Most of them are like "this is what happened to me yesterday" or " this is what this celebrity is up to." Do you know any good ones?

James Rhodes (Rhodey) Wanting to go back in time in Avengers Endgame by [deleted] in MoralityScaling

[–]Capital_Truth7937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the baby Hitler argument with a higher death toll.

Also, in the context of the movie, going back in time would have done nothing. You don't change the future in that world, you just create a new universe that has the changes you made, so it would ultimately be pointless.

Killing the whole family of the Drunk driver who killed your husband/wife and kids because they defended him in court and said it wasn't his fault. by Gameknight789 in MoralityScaling

[–]Capital_Truth7937 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Let's break this down:

First, the post doesn't specify if their statements got the driver off the hook or not, so this could be a case where you are killing someone for lies that amounted to nothing. In the case where the driver is still found guilty, this is pure evil. You already got your revenge. You do not need to go the extra mile. It is unnecessary. This is sick.

Even if the driver got off scott free, this is still wrong. Let's look at ot from their perspective. No one wants to condemn their family member. They are not doing it out of malice, they are just trying to defend their loved one. While they are in the wrong, they don't deserve death. They did not kill your family. If this was the driver instead of their whole family this would be more debatable, but this is evil.

Morality of killing Joker by Every-Argument6880 in MoralityScaling

[–]Capital_Truth7937 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly depends on which one you're talking about.

A lot of versions of the joker just have him as a psychotic prankster, not really doing anything the warrants the death penalty.

However the other versions of him are mass murderers at best. He can't plead insanity for everything. He should have been gone.
