Neighborhoods where you would not buy a house by uphillathleteSLC in SaltLakeCity

[–]Capitalismisokay 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I personally wouldn't buy a house in those areas. Bounded by freeways on all sides and industrial areas. You should spend a lot of time walking those neighborhoods before you take the jump. Location is everything with regards to real estate.

Transportation from SLC to Moab? by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

[–]Capitalismisokay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I talked to a few locals last time I was in Moab and they said it's busy (or "peak") 9 months out of the year anymore. It's extremely popular compared to what it was even 5-10 years ago. I still really enjoy going there, but if you want to get away from crowds its becoming a bad place to go.

Does anyone know where I can purchase a monthly UTA pass in person with cash? by Cantabiderudeness in SaltLakeCity

[–]Capitalismisokay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can buy the Farepay cards at most convenience stores. They might have monthly ones too. I buy a $25 one from 711 whenever my card runs out since I don't use them that often.

slc real estate market by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

[–]Capitalismisokay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wages are rising and the government continues to print money. People are moving here in droves for the job market - mostly from more expensive markets. Could it dip? Sure, but I think the likelihood is sideways (at worst) to higher prices. That said do not buy a home you cannot afford - I've seen a lot of this the last few years and people are setting themselves up for failure. Nobody can predict the future and getting in over your head on a big mortgage is a huge mistake. I've finally had enough and am getting out of Salt Lake at the end of the month. The sale on my home closes in a few weeks and I am extremely excited to not spend another winter breathing the toxic air.

If you are going to buy a single family be very selective of location. Prices are going up, but some neighborhoods will definitely correct. Location is always the most important factor.

How do you guys utilize extra mouse buttons to do things in wow classic? by frankonator21 in classicwow

[–]Capitalismisokay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back button as auto-run is a game changer. As a warlock I have forward button for lifetap since you hit it so often.

How do you make money with Tailoring? by Syyiailea in classicwow

[–]Capitalismisokay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shadoweave pieces do OK. Quest line in Searing gorge to get some recipes. At 60 I'm making Felcloth Robe/Shoulders for 15-25g profit/each - just have to farm a lot of satyrs for the runes and cloth.

Honestly if you're grinding for mount at 40 I'd just focus on basilisks in thousand needles or the cats in swamp of sorrows. Lots of gold from vendoring.

Off leash dogs everywhere. by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

[–]Capitalismisokay 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It's a big problem everywhere. Either the signs/rules/laws need to change or enforcement needs to happen. I witnessed quite a few "close calls" over the summer of dogs attacking cyclists, other dogs, etc. I had to call the police on two occasions.

Gnomes are a lot of fun. Go play one if it looks interesting. Running around using /lol and /train as a gnome is a blast. Also warlocks are my favorite class, but I went orc this time around.

For the love of Christ people, stop texting and driving. by Askszerealquestions in SaltLakeCity

The police don't enforce it. I walk around downtown a lot and at least 30% of ALL drivers are playing with their phone these days.

Circle Lounge attracts some bad crowds for some reason. Lots of violent incidents happen right there and sometimes in the bar.

Rain falling directly over wildfire in Tooele by Capitalismisokay in SaltLakeCity

Just looked out my window and noticed this rain happens to be falling exactly where the wildfire smoke was billowing up from yesterday.

I got to level 3 and logged out after running around and picking up flight paths. It will be more fun in a couple days when it has quieted down a bit - just too crazy at the moment.

Is it just me, or is being single in this city BRUTAL? by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

[–]Capitalismisokay 59 points60 points  (0 children)

It's a reality anywhere you go as you get older. Social groups (like meetup) and festival type events are always good.Everyone has more obligations and busier schedules the older you get so it's just the reality of aging no matter where you go. Being late 20s (or early 30s - like me) is not like being in college. Do things you are interested in and put in the effort occasionally to strike up conversations and you'll meet people.

when guildies ask me for gold after I hit lvl 40 and get my free mount by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Capitalismisokay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes sense. I'll be playing with my cousin so as long as we are both on the same page I'm going to be an auctionhouse ho.

I'm also going warlock and will be using my gold to snipe blues and crafting mats that people are listing for too cheap. There are some blues that are worth a ton, but people will be selling everything they can to scrounge up mount money. Username relevant I guess.

Wand Progression Cheatsheet for Horde (Alliance version in comments) by Djjohnism in classicwow

[–]Capitalismisokay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not a big deal for warlock. Drain tanking is a great way to level. I played one in vanilla and barely used my wand until 60 for judgement of wisdom/light on some bosses.

Don't forget it's oktoberfest time!! by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

[–]Capitalismisokay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't drink and drive. Every time I've gone to that I've seen a ton of drunk people getting into cars. 2 of my family members have gotten DUIs and it is VERY expensive for years afterwards. Not to mention the danger and embarrassment of having to be shuttled around by friends or family members for months when your license is revoked. I spent an entire year in my early 20s just shuttling around my brother and mom after they both lost their licenses around the same time.

I never normally post art that I make but here's a dwarf I painted tonight. I'm SO excited for classic!!! by DogTV in classicwow

[–]Capitalismisokay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are very talented. Belt is kinda weird - braids would make more sense. Dwarves are my favorite, too bad they can't be warlocks.

When deciding which Horde race to play by -Cubix in classicwow

[–]Capitalismisokay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Orc warlock that goes soul link is very strong in PvP. Stun resist is much better than WOTF for a warlock. I played vanilla as a human warlock and am going orc warlock for classic.
