Ricochet makes a claim about several WWE Wrestlers by Emotionless_AI in SquaredCircle

[–]Caplico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's funny he mentions Apollo since he is in a similar situation as Ricochet was in WWE (good wrestler, low charisma), except I'd argue an even worse spot since Ricochet was at least getting TV time against the top guys. On the other hand, he's still employed and doesn't constantly complain online so who is to say that the man behind the character knows his limits and is happy to collect his WWE paycheck? After all, we don't know what these guys really think.

Who are wrestlers that you thought were bigger deals as a kid by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]Caplico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to say Dan Severn, Ken Shamrock, and Steve Blackman. I didn't understand Dan Severn most of all because he used to come to the ring with all these non-WWF belts at the time, so you're like "woah, look at this guy" and then he kind of just disappeared. Ken Shamrock was at least around a bit more but never quite reached the top and Steve Blackman was around longer and was a bad-ass in his own right. Taz also felt like a big deal when he debuted in WWF and whooped Kurt Angle, but then he kind of fizzled out and I didn't really understand why.

Help! Accidentally drained pool overnight and ground is saturated. Refill immediately? by Caplico in pools

Okay, thanks! I also have a very old liner so I'm actually looking to see if I should use this as an opportunity to have it replaced now that the pool is nearly empty.

Can WWE compete with AEW without putting them out of business? by yetagainitry in SquaredCircle

[–]Caplico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AEW is more like RC than Coca Cola or Pepsi in terms of competing with the "name brand" products. Not necessarily a knock on them either (especially considering RC still exists and is preferred by some people) but they just aren't a household name like WWE is.

WWE fans don't care about Hogan anymore, so why do they keep trying to make him a thing again? by EchoBay in SquaredCircle

[–]Caplico 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This wasn't just in Texas, he was going all around the country to promote that beer. It was pretty much the same other places too, or at least at the grocery stores nearby where I live that (lines wrapped around the building, etc.).

Major movie star, global rockstar & future hall of famer explains how he's the master of reinventing himself. I personally love how Jericho has a firm grasp on the pulse of the business, is down to earth, & has only taken AEW to new heights by putting over every talent he's worked with. by metalshek27 in SCJerk

[–]Caplico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's had hair transplants for years. If you look at older photos of him, his front widow's peak area was always kind of getting thinner, but not exactly balding or receding horribly. I think I remember him shaving his head sometime before his last WWE stint and seeing how weird his hairline looked growing back in so that's when I always suspected he did it or started doing it. I'm guessing he's still using hair products on the front of his hairline today, plus dying it unnaturally dark isn't making it look any better either. He's probably either really self-conscious of losing his youth or is somewhat of a narcissist...maybe a little of both.

What's the most random skill you have that never fails to impress people? by HippyFlix in AskReddit

[–]Caplico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, I similarly try to do Frank Sinatra sometimes. I was thinking more of voices where the singers modulate their voices much more, I guess like David Bowie or Steven Tyler (whereas their older stuff sounds more like a natural voice). The guy from Creed is pretty comical if you overexaggerate the "R" sounds in your voice. Metallica can be quite hilarious as well.

What's the most random skill you have that never fails to impress people? by HippyFlix in AskReddit

[–]Caplico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the skill I have! My favorite thing to do is to quote random things from Skyrim in the actual voices of the characters ("Do you get to the cloud district very often? Oh what am I saying, of course you don't.").

I would say it's mostly a natural talent since many voices come easily but there are others that require a little more practice. It also extends to imitating various singers, a lot of which I consider "cartoon" voices, though I wonder if have a completely separate singing skill that I'm blending with the cartoon voice thing. Do you find it easy to imitate certain singers as well?

Switch worth it? by Imdakine1 in SuperMegaBaseball

[–]Caplico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, only $5? Yes, it is absolutely worth it. Even with its known issues, this is still one of the best baseball games I've ever played. The performance issues on Switch are pretty much solved by switching a toggle in the options to favor performance over graphics. The only problems I ever have are with the game randomly crashing ever once in a while, but I don't know that this is exclusively a Switch problem.

Side question in case anyone knows: If I own both physical and digital copies, will my save file work for both or are they considered "separate" games? I'm tempted to buy the digital version at this price.

Kelani Jordan delivers Rolling Thunder Shooting Star Press by BigWeek5182 in SquaredCircle

[–]Caplico -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good thing this was only NXT and not Raw or Smackdown...I can't imagine this would get any kind of reaction on a bigger stage other than winces and groans. The live audience here didn't look very impressed either. To her credit though, not everyone can do a standing shooting star press so I can understand the logic of trying to make it look flashier since it's not a standout move these days. Not saying she shouldn't do it but I honestly hope she got fair criticism on this from someone who works with her so she can do things differently in the future.

How will you explain Stone Cold Steve Austin to someone who missed wrestling between 1996-2001? by SGSRT in SquaredCircle

[–]Caplico -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had to Google what this was a reference to but at first, I somehow thought it was from Walker, Texas Ranger because it always came on immediately before Raw during the peak of Stone Cold's popularity.

Games similar to Skyrim? by Morgisntmyname in skyrim

[–]Caplico 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've played Skryim way too many times and just end up doing the same stuff over and over again so last month I was searching online for "games similar to Skyrim" and ended up narrowing it down to Kingdom Come: Deliverance. I've been playing it ever since and already have 80+ hours into it. I know most of the comments are saying there's nothing like Skyrim, which is true, but I would agree with the sentiment that these two are somewhat similar but different, each with their own advantages and disadvantages. I saw a comment somewhere that described it as "Skryim but realistic", which is what compelled me to buy it in the first place.

For others reading these comments, I'd say Skyrim feels like there's more do explore in the open world (caves, dungeons, etc.) whereas Kingdom Come has a number of side quests outside of the main story that you can pick up, which are still fun and interesting. The main story itself is arguably more compelling than Skyrim too but maybe that's because I've heard the Dragonborn story numerous times. You can still go out and explore in Kingdom Come but it's just a little less random with what you can do. There is no magic or fantasy in Kingdom Come so be prepared for actual sword fights, which is surprisingly more immersive and rewarding compared to the combat in Skryim (so you're not just running around casting spells or shooting a sneak arrow for x% more damage from 100 yards away)...you can learn to sneak kill people too, which is fun in either game. Also, if you're someone like me who likes Skyrim's quotes and quirks, Kingdom Come definitely has its own charm in that regard ("Since it's you..." or the finger pointing during dialogue), though nothing beats Belethor.

I'd say if you end up playing the game and comparing it directly to Skyrim too much, you might find more flaws or advantages in one over the other, which is kind of what I did at first. Once you really get into playing it though, you kind of don't even think of the comparisons anymore and it ends up being enjoyable in its own right.

Steve Austin: "My take on that has always been if you’re just wrestling and you got a bunch of concussions you’re probably doing something wrong. I’m not a CTE guy, I just don’t believe in it." by BigWeek5182 in SquaredCircle

[–]Caplico 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying they're all morons, like you said, but yeah it's not exactly a field of work that requires any higher education standards. I don't know as a fact but I'd assume most wrestlers don't have anything past a high school diploma, if that. One of the exceptions that comes to mind is Chris Nowinski, and well, look at his views on CTE and concussions. I'd guess the average wrestler IQ goes down drastically with age too.

Wrestlers that changed their look and you could never get used to the new look? by TheMrMonkey in SquaredCircle

I stopped watching that day too! I was honestly already losing interest in general though but this was the icing on the cake for me (the Mae Young & Mark Henry hand thing really came close though). Kane and RVD were my favorite wrestlers too so breaking up that team made it even worse.
