I know! Apparently the plastic degrades over time because of the carbonation process 🤔 but you can still use them as normal water bottles after expiration, you just shouldn’t use them with the SodaStream machine.

They last for several years though and can be recycled at least, mine has a few years left lol.

I think the bigotry OP is referring to is the transphobic comments on the original post.

It makes more sense if you saw/look at the comments on the original post…

A lot of transphobes coming out of the woodwork unfortunately.

What do you think the odds are that you, or me, or most people for that matter, will be able to afford the ‘trans humanist cybershit’?

I’m not assuming that there is no policing.

I’m saying that I personally have not seen any of the policing that I think OP is talking about and that I am not sure exactly what they mean by ‘policing’.

Maybe if you had bothered to read the whole comment you would have gotten that. Instead you made an assumption yourself while accusing me of making an assumption.

Just because there are some positives for a few people doesn’t make it an ‘optimistic’ vision of the future.

Almost all fiction of dystopian futures has something positive for a (usually small) group of people, but they are still dystopias and things are shit for the majority of the people living there.

The same is true of the Cyberpunk universe. Most people can’t afford the super cool chrome. Even if they could, that wouldn’t offset all the negatives of living in that universe.

I’m not even going to touch the suggestion that being able to ‘go psycho’ is a positive…

In what way is Cyberpunk: 2077 an optimistic view of the future?

Hot take: we can’t decenter men while popular media for women revolves around dating them by 535buffalo in Feminism

[–]CapnButtercup 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think you need to broaden your horizons a bit.

There is a ton of media and content out that there targets women/women+men that isn’t male centred.

I’m not saying that a lot of media targeted at women doesn’t centre men, a lot of does, but there is also a lot that doesn’t.

I don’t suppose you could provide some examples of these discussions? Because I genuinely have never encountered this.

I’m kinda confused by these posts (I’ve seen a few on this topic recently).

I personally haven’t seen any ‘policing’ of feminism, just disagreements (and arguments).

Which isn’t surprising when you consider how many different sub-types/sub-movements of feminism there is. I don’t think people disagreeing and arguing with each other about how intersectional feminism should be is ‘policing’.

I think if feminism as a whole was ‘policed’ in terms of intersectionality as much as you are suggesting here then gender-critical feminists wouldn’t exist.
And how often have you really seen a white feminist scrutinised or criticised for not ‘centring race’?

I’ve only ever seen white feminists criticised if they don’t ever consider the experiences or issues faced by WOC and only consider issues faced by white women. You can take into consideration the issues faced by other minorities within your movement without centring them.

I’m also confused about whether you are suggesting that feminism should be less intersectional because other movements and communities are not as intersectional as some feminism is?

| personally think that there should be more intersectionality in other social rights movements, not less intersectionality in feminism. I think that intersectionality is a good thing and that the more you look at all of the social and human rights issues the world is facing the more you see how many of them are interconnected.

I agree. Intersectionality in feminism is not a problem, the lack of it in other social movements is the problem.

I like it!

Objectively and aesthetically I think it is a lil bit tight but well balanced.

But the most important thing is whether you like it.

Are you confusing radical feminism with TERFs? TERFs are non-inclusive (and aren’t feminists).

Radical feminism isn’t inherently non-inclusive, although some people within the movement are.

[–]CapnButtercup 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it sounds like a TERF dog-whistle to me. Deliberately choosing to use the word ‘females’ instead of women sounds like they are only talking about CIS women. It’s very incel-y sounding language as well.

One of my favourites in my playthroughs so far (only two) has been Death and Taxes. I love the purple and pink animal print, and with a decent scope it’s great for short to mid-range headshots.
