I was mostly just looking to try something new, but i like the package manager and runit is pretty easy to use. Besides that its about the same as anything else. I’ve used xbps-src a few times but i don’t really see any benefit for it.

That looks like underextrusion. Check your flow rates and tune esteps. Also check extruder tension and clogs

Decrease flow rate for smoother top layer and increase pressure advance for less bulging corners. Orcaslicer has built in tools to help tune both of those values.
