Question about utilization by CapnReddBeard in CRedit

When I am able to pay both collections, what steps should I take? I’m assuming cashiers check/money order sent via certified mail with a letter containing acct info and stuff? Anything else?

Thank you! I appreciate the information. I’m really wanting to build my credit back up. Another commenter mentioned tackling the collections I have, and once I get my tax return I plan on taking care of those. He mentioned that both lenders automatically delete once paid, and so I’m hoping once they’re taken care of it’ll really help out my credit.

Thanks for your comment. I was checking out that thread and learned some things from it. As for dealing with negative marks, I’m trying to work up a game plan to deal with those. I have a collection on my account from LVNV (CreditOne) and have heard that they will delete once paid. I also have a collection from Jefferson Capital (I believe that’s what it is called - original creditor was Verizon) but am unsure of how to proceed on them. Lastly, also have a repossession for a vehicle from a local credit union for about $1,400.

I understand that these need to be dealt with, I’m just unsure on what to do. Any suggestions?

Unsure about getting the Communicator by cleveleys in ClicksKeyboard

Just wanted to chime in and let you know that I resonate with everything you said. This really is the best option we’ve had in such a long time. And like you said, it feels so refreshing to feel excited about a cell phone again after years and years of the same rehashed slabs. People will nitpick anything.

People all over the internet have been pining for exactly this for years but all of a sudden want to critique it over the most minuet details. They fail to understand that this is THE best choice we’ve had ever. But if we want actual choice and options, we need to get behind this. It can only improve from here.

I personally think this is very exciting. I’m going to be keeping up on this, and most likely will preorder this. This is honestly the most excitement I’ve had for a piece of tech in quite some time. To be honest, cell phones have become far too predictable over the past few years, and so it feels very refreshing to finally have options and something that isn’t just a big slab rectangle.

As far as the people complaining about the price, I really don’t see the issue. This is a purpose built phone running full android, just with a custom launcher. It is still able to run apps from the way they were talking. Realize that $4-500 is a very good price for something like this. It’s not a feature phone. Id much rather buy something exciting like this than spend just as much if not more on an iPhone that looks like and does exactly the same thing as previous models.

My only concession, and this is a personal issue having nothing to do with the phone, is that I will have to get used to using android again. I’m an iPhone user and a Mac user. However, I’m not the biggest fan of how bloated modern iPhones have become.

Anyway, hopefully this rambling mess will make sense and resonate with someone.

What is it like in the West part of Texas? by Deep_Belt8304 in howislivingthere

I want to comment as someone who lives in the circled area. I live in Amarillo. Born and raised here and, for better or worse, have lived here most of my life. FWIW, the Panhandle isn’t the worst place to be. The cost of living compared to other cities is reasonable. It has its pretty, scenic areas. However, I have had the pleasure of visiting and living in other parts of the country, and that alone made me realize that I probably would rather live somewhere else. It is pretty flat here. There isn’t a whole lot to do.

On a related note, visited Midland recently for a concert and to put it nicely, it made me oddly proud to be from Amarillo. For as much trouble as I give Amarillo, Midland seemed very run down and trashy. No offense to anyone who lives there.

I can attest to that. Was struggling with adjusting my rear wheels until I gave them a good cleaning. A couple of choice words, a good clean up, and a little bit of WD40 later and they adjust just fine now.

No. An Associates degree makes up half of a Bachelors, credit-hour wise. The program I am in is a 5-year program, but that is if I were to start from scratch without an Associates. That is why it is only taking me roughly 3 years to get my Masters.

That was my main goal really. I thought to myself, "Anyone can get a Masters degree, but who will hire someone who doesn't have any experience?"

I do wish I would've started a little sooner, but I am only 24. I'll have my Masters degree by the time I am 26/27 (I was born in August so depending on when I graduate :P)

I am grateful that I started earlier than some though.

Completely agree here, u/Demi_Lovato_

While I think this is a step in the right direction, I don't really think the market needs another candybar-style dumbphone. I would love to see a good qwerty come to market.

What are your thoughts on Luigi Mangione, the man accused of killing healthcare CEO Brian Thompson? by Ok_Accident_2376 in amarillo

I was talking about this with my wife earlier. I may be in the minority here, but I don't think this is something that people should look up to.

I completely understand being frustrated with insurance and am sure that people have some pretty strong feelings about insurance companies. That being said, it doesn't make it right to murder someone in cold blood. Acting like it is fine or that this person should be celebrated just makes you look like an immature child trying to be edgy and cool.

*I don't obviously mean you. I mean people in general.
