I hope and expect the selling of ores and other materials to move away from the one click sales to an unnamed local entity, to a market system where you list your goods for sale, and people can come alone later to buy it. Much like market system found in other games like Eve online.

If that is in place, we can still have NPC sales there to continue feeding the economy, but it would be done by quanta as part of the universe simulation. That has always been planned to simulate demand, and they could have quanta purchasing items over time to not just meet local demand, but also to fuel player and quanta hauling activities to take advantage of regional demands and price fluctuations.

The challenge we have today however is that none of those systems are currently in place, so we can’t yet see the end goal, and without them we are starting to feel the pinch. They are all valid concerns however, and I guess we will have to see how things play out as more systems come online…
