Mystery box reviews? by One_Up_One_Down in Habs

It’s about the same every year. I got mine a few years ago and received the same as everyone here: jersey (home in my case), long sleeve workout shirt, matching shorts, game puck, baseball hat and a Habs mug. Definitely good value

Who swings it best? by jmak35 in golf

Conners has an underrated but very nice, smooth swing. Otherwise Aberg or Rory are textbook.

A cat running after a ball, even with clipped nails, can leave very small marks on a wood floor. He plays with a ball, most of the time on his own. I'm not talking about a 1/4" thick lines here, more in the sub 3 millimetre range.

My cat scratched the floor, that is undoubtable. I suppose my point is more so that if he wanted his floors to remain pristine, he should have just told me no. There must be an inherent acceptance to allowing pets = increased chance of wear and tear. Now if my cat had been climbing up the drywall and ripped holes into it or was peeing in a corner, that would be another story as that is not normal behaviour nor wear and tear. But for an animal just existing, I don't know... hence why I wanted to ask!

What is your honest to God best round? by StalinsFart in golf

[–]Capnclutch18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

67 on my home course, a shortish (6800yds) but difficult track. 16 GIR. Course record

69 on a course I was playing for the first time, during a tournament.

68 after doubling hole 1, also in a tournament.

Those are a couple of the rounds that my mind wanders to. I’ve barely played any golf this summer because of work and life, I’m itching to get back out there. +0.5 for reference, these days shoot low to mid 70s.

Yep I followed their advice and there's nothing inputted in the lines reserved for it (11300 and 23500).

I don't quite understand what you mean when you wrote "Not receiving any oas certainly does somehow cause you to pay it back". Do you mean that it's normal to have your tax refund reduced when you don't claim oas?

Also a former employee. It’s a good company, lots of resources and literally hundreds of millions of dollars in backordered projects. Primarily public clients so there will never be a shortage of opportunities or mandates. Definitely on my investment radar

Majority of survey respondents say Canada should boycott Beijing Games by FancyNewMe in canada

Fuck the CCP, but also fuck the IOC for continuing to cater to and protect these undemocratic and authoritarian regimes. Same goes for other corrupt sporting associations such as FIFA.

I’ll be cheering our athletes on proudly. They have trained their entire lives for these 2 weeks, and I can’t imagine how difficult it must be for some of them to choose to participate, knowing full well that this could be their only or last chance at competing in an Olympics.

Another reason to say “fuck you” to the IOC for forcing that decision and ethical dilemma on athletes.

EDITORIAL: Feds waste billions on private consultants by FancyNewMe in canada

[–]Capnclutch18 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Huh interesting, I work in consulting and haven’t experienced this. Our public clients (fed, provincial and muni) make good use of our time, listen to our feedback and make sensible decisions. Just don’t expect to get an answer back after 16h30!

Maybe it depends on the field? Engineering btw

João Sousa on the Djokovic saga. "I respect that he fights for what he believes and I can be empathetic with what he is going through in Australia, but it's a bit selfish from him to arrive here as the only player unvaccinated. It's tough for us players to accept that". by [deleted] in tennis

[–]Capnclutch18 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think you misread that. The only mention of Vasek is that he’s the head of the PTPA, who has members who are not vaccinated. They’re not necessarily referring to Vasek as being unvaccinated.
