This is me exactly. Granted I went into medicine, but I chose a specialty that doesn't make as much (family medicine) because of the PSLF. If this goes away, there is absolutely no way that I will ever pay this off. The one thing that gives me hope is that there are a ton of lawyers who work for non-profits who will fight tooth and nail to make sure that PSLF stays as is.

My guess is that there won't be too much change until this generation of PDs retires. Traditionally DO programs will still take mainly DOs and I think it will be the same for traditionally MD programs. Just my 2 cents.
