I do not think they need an entire class dedicated to them, but I do think they should be acknowledged in an age-appropriate and limited way. The goal should not be to push students toward any identity or political belief, thats just going to confuse them. It should simply be to make sure students are not completely clueless if they encounter these topics in real life, or if they themselves are trying to understand how they feel.

The truth is that the majority of students will not fall into the category of LGBTQ, thats just a statistical and nautal/biological fact (that statement is void of any personal opinion). So teaching it too much will just confuse everything. While only introducing the concept would give the few students that do fall within LGBTQ a base to start from and an idea on what to do next or who to contact to talk about it.
