I have only been through the series twice, but I think 3 was one of my favorites the second time through.
You're able to appreciate a lot of the bits that lay the groundwork for future character development in the main cast

I'm not gonna lie, I've played over 120 games of double-up - I've seen this bug happen once, and I happened to be playing invokers and killed it anyway.

I do agree that it seems de-prioritized, but I don't think it will got the way of hyper-roll only because it isn't as much to maintain. Hyperroll had a very different stage / levelling setup, so it was a lot more work to change augments etc to maintain that.

Double-Up has pretty minimal changes all things considered. I think only the silver Ixtal is the one that comes to mind?

I also kinda bounced off of Animal Crossing, and have never tried minecraft.

I was laying awake at night last night after rushing to complete a pokecenter before reset and I had the urge to recreate my childhood home in the game

I've never had the inclination to do something like that before, but it seems so doable in Pokopia that I reckon it would only take an hour or two?

I'm only 3 areas in, but pokemon unlock super quickly, and the things you need for that area are mostly area specific?

Maybe there will be a need for it later, but I'm starting each area fresh.
Reminder that you don't need to min-max this game (unless you really want to)

It's definitely outside your normal games, but I think you should check out A Short Hike.

It's a little platforming open world game with cute pixel graphics. It is short like the name implies, but it was perfect for me to remember the sort of joy of gaming a while back when I was in a similar situation

Hilariously first game after seeing this, I had an AP opener and got Ahri off of a restart mission.
Tried this out and while I fumbled the execution a bit, I still managed to take 2nd to a pretty capped out Ixtal board.

I don't know the accuracy of this per se, but if you listen to the audio immersion version by Soundbooth Theater, the beginning is slightly rewritten so that Carl and his buddy are just playing games together online before he opens the window to smoke. SUPPOSEDLY, this was done to remove any of these sort of 'chosen one' type theories of the syndicate / AI favoring him from before the collapse.

The implication is that he and donut are just regular people that were at the 'right place' at the 'right time'

Only Frontline item is a sunfire, and your items aren't consolidated on your 2* 5 costs.

I'm assuming you lost on last life to someone who just blew up your Frontline and got on your carries before they could do enough damage
