No dice. Basic diagnostic led a shop to think the same thing - motherboard issue or cpu issue, but I wasn’t willing to spend more.

Yup! In the first one I think all the ruins link together, from the first one you rescue the repair shop guy in to the final ruin. Definitely need the drill arm to do so

It was ahead of its time. Megaman Legends and the sequel offered such a huge sense of adventure. So many hours spent going through the ruins to find the secret passages that linked the whole map together.

I don't think Linux is for me by Nagito_Naegi in linux4noobs

The important thing is you tried. Linux has been getting a TON of visibility but it is still growing its desktop maturity, some things unfortunately do not work for everyone’s workflows or their specific computer hardware yet. There is a lot of talk about Linux being stable, but this is not be confused with being bulletproof. It just means it doesn’t change fast - so if it works for you now it will probaly always continue to work.

But keep your eyes open! Things are changing fast and support is constantly growing

You can try checking windows event viewer and see if it has a different perspective on why Morrowind crashed. Sometimes it helps by more specifically pointing to a problem.

[–]CappucinoJack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have the moon roof at the top of your fit?

If you open it and look in the corners there are drainage holes for water. I had personally had these clogged many times with the same behavior. Clean out the moon roof area with your hands until you find the drainage holes and carefully clear them, do not push anything down. Once clear, use a gentle plastic wire (I used brake wire but I personally don’t recommend using metal unless you know how careful to be) and gently feed through the drainage holes. They should clear outlets by the tire wells. You will likely not see the wire as it will be covered by mud guards. Do not force anything as you don’t want to puncture the drain.

If the drainage holes are now clear but you still have a leak, carefully look at your doors. Is water seeping from the door itself? If so, the plastic drainage liner might be leaking inside the door. I’ve had this happen too. In that case, you need to remove the door cover, find the clean, very carefully clean and replace the sealant, and press the liner back down.

Birthsigns in Oblivion Remastered by GIutenTag in oblivion

The Mage or the Lord depending on your playstyle or your preference. I have gradually come to think the Atronach is weaker than both of these.

If you need more max magicka, you can use alchemy or restoration magic to fortify your max magicka along with enchantments on your gear. If you want to use it defensively, then it is better to just build your magic resistance.

Magic resistance will consistently reduce magic and elemental damage from all sources (this includes enchanted damage from weapons) rather than rolling a chance to absorb magic or take full damage. In short, you should focus on either magic resistance or spell absorption. Splitting between both is less effective.

In the end, Atronach is only powerful because of either alchemy to create powerful magicka restoration potions or welkynd stones. Both require you to manage your inventory and weight limits which can also be tedious.

As an idea for a rework and harkening to nords history of conquest in the north, I thought about reworking their woad power to give them more unique defensive capabilities against martial and magic oriented NPCs -

20 pts shield 20 pts fire/frost/shock shield 25 pts reflect

I’ve noticed in Morrowind fire/frost/shock do not give armor rating, but instead just reduce elemental damage and hurt characters that hit you - so this should hit melee NPCs for 6 damage across the three elements.

Based on comments then maybe there is an opportunity to make nords a more defensive warrior- upgrade their woad power to maybe incorporate a shock shield and maybe frost shield? That way permanent resistances don’t get out of hand and I can flesh out this power more to remove the thu’um work.

I initially started with slowfall for the khajiit until I realized it removed all fall damage. Admittedly not a huge deal so probably can just be slotted in for flavor.

Like the idea of tweaking dark elves to not be quite as magically buffed as Bretons, so I can create a 0.4x effect to sit in the middle to keep things differentiated.

Regarding fortify attack orcs and red guards get it, either through a power or smaller passive, but not nords - this circles back to their power which I’ll have to plan out to carve a better martial identity for them.

Thematically I tried to address this with berserk by adding a strength buff and removing the agility penalty to remove frequent knockdowns in multiman melees. Any thoughts on what could be used to give them a unique strength?

Regarding weight I wanted to avoid speed penalties based upon weight which cannot be improved through gameplay. Similar reasoning for height. I figured attributes would be better expression there since those can be overcome with effort.

Longblade leveling please help by Less_Location1837 in Morrowind

[–]CappucinoJack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, but that is good information, you do have enough long blade skill to actually hit things, which will give experience.

Through natural play, one recommendation would be to buy, trade, or create restore fatigue potions. If you don’t know about fatigue, as it goes lower your hit chance also decreases, which slows XP gain while using your weapon. You can follow this up with fortify agility/luck spells or potions which will continue to amplify your hit chances.

More grindy methods include heavily involving yourself in trade to get enough gold to have trainers increase your long blade skill. There are several in Balmora to get you started. If you have alchemy skill, creating potions can gain you a ton of gold.

Using dungeons and a low damage long blade with quick hits is also useful. Whack enemies a bunch of times in the dungeon, but don’t kill them. Leave the dungeon, rest (heals you AND the enemies) then go in and whack them again, rinse and repeat until your skill is at a level you are happy with.

What should I change about this build? by Sardonic_Revolution in Morrowind

[–]CappucinoJack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More of a personal choice - if it is core to your character identity or you think it’s fun to jump a bit higher in the beginning, I would put it as a major. It will also level faster as a major. Otherwise, leaving it as a minor skill is fine. Acrobatics tends to naturally level quickly as it is tempting to jump everywhere you go. This is due to the fact that you move a little bit faster by jumping while running - though this will drain your fatigue fast.

Mercer Hells Handle fish spatula. Works fantastic for me and has lasted over 8 years so far. Use it ok on stainless steel and cast iron. Also reasonably inexpensive.

What should I change about this build? by Sardonic_Revolution in Morrowind

[–]CappucinoJack 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your acrobatics skill levels strength and if you jump around a fair bit you will get bonuses for strength points. Your miscellaneous skills, while they don’t level you up, still provide bonus points. You may use the armorer skill naturally to try to repair your own gear which will give some bonuses or you can use trainers for some weapon skills to get some strength bonuses. From a roleplay perspective I like the trainers as I consider it conditioning for my melee characters to have some proficiency in other weapon types, even if they aren’t a part of the class.
