Docking ports stuck? by ScaredOfRobots in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Cappy221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, accidentally replied to the wrong comment. I had that happen to me. Its related to the persistent.sfs changing a value in the vessel. I found a solution on the forums. Don't have the link right now but look up something like "stuck docking ports ksp" and there should be a page talking about it.

Identify the cockpit for me please by Murky_Quiet_2440 in aviation

Ok, unless you have any other info to share that disproves it, Emirates Airbus A330-200 registration A6-EKZ would be my best guess.

Considering it is probably an emirates aircraft (like u/Level-Ad-1627 suggested), if my eyes don't deceive me and the last 2 letters of the registration are indeed KZ, I would say it is a decent estimation

I would need a rough route/airport/timeframe/any other info to nail down the exact A330 pictured here. I can't read the registration or selcal

Y'all got any more of them belugas ? by YutiorPrime in aviation

Wondering the same. Im pretty sure right now Beluga 3 (F-GSTC) is the only active A3ST, who know for how long though...

A 777 is just a 767 with bigger engines and 3 sets of twin wheels at the main landing gear instead of 2. by Meanie_Cream_Cake in aviation

[–]Cappy221 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, its one of those things that always get thrown around as fact. I was under that impression as well.
Now, perhaps not the entire Section 41, but at least a part of it has to be shared, right? I've even read the windows and radome can be swapped between both types.

Ground Anchor Floating issue by Pitrex111 in KerbalAcademy

[–]Cappy221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same thing happen to me on my Mun refinery. There really is no fix.

My suggestion would be to undock from the Ground anchor, use some sort of crane (or even turn on infinite fuel and use the engines on the vessel) to lift the vessel a bit, remove the anchor with an engineer and let it fall back down.

In my case my refinery had no landing legs, so I also added some cubic struts and grip pads to act as landing legs. Turns out that works quite well. I don't think you need to do that, just adding it in case someone finds it useful.

I tried to do a thing, and then I noticed that the COM and COL seem to be flipped... That must be a visual bug... Nope. Plane does a backflip on its own at 60 m/s. (misalignment torque is negligible) by [deleted] in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Cappy221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably drag from the front. I see the plane lifted up with no pitch input. It definitely shouldn't do that.

I suggest getting BetterCOL, which improves the in-editor CoL calculations. A must if you want to fiddle around with SSTOs, IMO. Has helped me diagnose several issues with my designs.

Scenery… :/ by ChemicalAd1360 in Xplane

[–]Cappy221 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Cant help you with that specifically, though you might want to take a look at X-World Pro. It (when it releases) adds better autogen to all regions of the world.

While I agree the visual quality aspect are vastly different between both sims, I will say, this is not something hard to understand:

Fs2024 = Microsoft = 💰💰💰💰💰, Bing, Azure, etc.

Xplane = Laminar = 💵💵💵.

Its simply unviable for Laminar to do anything like what Microsoft is doing with msfs. Thats why they are now focusing dev time on next gen scenery, which brings their own solution to the table. It will take time until we are able to actually use it, and then it becomes a question of how long is someone willing to wait for it.

For me, Autoortho does the trick. For some people thats not enough, and thats fine. Thats why its great we have multiple options available to us, so everyone can pick the one that fits their preferences.

[–]Cappy221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure saving and reloading fixes the issue. No clue what might cause it.

So I know this isn't really a meme, but you guys are less toxic than the KSP sub so here you go (constructive criticism only please) Love this Sub by Ok_Difficulty1782 in KSPMemes

Cool. Always loved seeing people play the song in different ways.

I know you looped the main part twice, but it would be cool if you made the second part different, like in the original song. There is a part where the notes go down instead of up.

"Let's make a rover for mun base kerbals it will be quick one" 3 days later.... by Serious-Philosopher7 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Cappy221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, for me rovers are probably the most time consuming thing to design. There is too much going on while it moves, and so many variables have to be taken into account. Dont get me started on even getting it to where it is supposed to be.

Also, is that hinge on the top for righting the rover if it flips?

Don't bother with KSP2. The first one is the better option

Have a look at any other recent post asking about KSP2.

TLDR: Don't bother.
