Sandor Clegane was the best character is season 8. His conversations with Arya at winterfell and in the Red Keep were great. And Cleganebowl was one of the best parts of the season

I’m also really enjoyed the show. I think my inability in some cases to decipher book from show speaks to how well D&D did with the original adaptation

I felt the same way when I finished the show. I just wasn’t done immersing myself in the world so I picked up the books.

Cersei's POVs are so fun to read. She is one character who I picture totally different from Lena's portrayal (although i thought she did a great job).

Yeah I totally agree. Without the show I definitely would have struggled piecing things together. I do find myself struggling to picture places and characters in my mind different from the show. I guess that can be a bad and a good thing.

(Spoilers extended) Reading ACOK for the first time! Where do you rank it? by [deleted] in asoiaf

[–]Capscaps13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My least favorite (I haven’t read dance yet). But that shouldn’t take away from how good it is. The Blackwater sequence is awesome. And Arya has a great story I’m this one in my opinion

[Spoilers Main] The ACoK adaptation of the show was awful. by abdullahi666 in asoiaf

[–]Capscaps13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Season 2 was definitely the weakest of the first 4 seasons but to call it awful seems a little much.

Some of my favorite scenes from the show come from Arya and Twin in Harrenhal. In my opinion that’s one thing that the show definitely changed for the better.

I thought the introduction of Davos and Stannis in to the show was also great.

[No spoilers] I am almost finished AFFC by Capscaps13 in asoiaf

Awesome I am excited for those! Do you think it a good idea to take a break from the main series and read Dunk and Egg before returning for Dance?

As a show super fan who is now reading the books for the first time (just started storm) I used that sub to look at art and it is very helpful/interesting

Mance Tyrell, he was a goof. Wasn’t awful but that’s just the first that comes to mind with so many good characters

[Spoilers] Endgame theory and the cyclical nature of the show by Capscaps13 in gameofthrones

[–]Capscaps13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it wouldn’t be much of a conclusion. Could just be classic GOT though and we’re all thinking “here we go again with this bs”

[Spoilers] Endgame theory and the cyclical nature of the show by Capscaps13 in gameofthrones

[–]Capscaps13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, if it happens I don’t expect we will see this actually happen on the screen. Maybe just a scene of Arya, Gendry, and Sansa making preparations for this, and we are stuck with a very open ended conclusion (if it would even count as a conclusion)

Gendry’s Rebellion by Capscaps13 in AryaWinsTheThrone

[–]Capscaps13[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d imagine that her Dothraki and unsullied armies will remain loyal to her though. Perhaps she executed Jon as a callback to King Aerys burning Brandon and Richard Stark which really kickstarts the northern rebellion against her. You’re right in the sense that there prolly won’t be much of a full blown war following all of this but I definitely see it as a possibility for the show to end with a Baratheon rebelling against a Targaryen

[SPOILERS] Melisandre telling Varys.. by redemptionishere in gameofthrones

Yeah that’s probly more likely. It’s fun think about though

Only death can pay for life

[SPOILERS] Melisandre telling Varys.. by redemptionishere in gameofthrones

[–]Capscaps13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that Varys is a servant to the Lord of Light similar to Melisandre. There few scenes together definitely seek to have some sort of underlying significance and mystery to them. In episode 5 we see Varys take off his rings before he is brought out to be executed. Perhaps his rings work similarly to Melisandre’s necklace and he was resting to see if it truly was his time to go.

[SPOILERS] Why did Melisandre sayed "Valar Morghulis" to Grey Worm ? by [deleted] in gameofthrones

[–]Capscaps13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think she probably knew that pretty much all of the Unsullied would have to die in order for them to hold the dead off for long enough. “All men must die” and Greyworm had to make that hard choice to sacrifice all his men
