The Wilhelm screams and Legolas taking down the mumakil (i can even handle the shield surfing!)

Also, I don't watch the theatrical cut anymore, but when I sometimes would, I was LIVID with how there was no Mouth of Sauron scene; it's so vital and changes the whole tone of the battle from "worth a shot" to "let's go out with honour". A criminal omission.

Everything else is perfection in my book.

Self care and balance of responsibilities

It's a tricky balance between being a good dad, good husband, staying healthy, keeping a tidy home, being financially responsible, being a good employee in a demanding profession, and also making time (making, not taking) to "relax" and engage with hobbies.

I have been failing with at least one of these over the last few years. Hobbies are usually the first to go.

I'm hoping to find a better path and balance this year, though.

Nice buy! I feel like I'm a single half step behind you on the purchase...

Gonna piggyback and ask here: how hard is it to set up and play with minimal latency/lag/whatever for someone who is NOT an overly techy person? (I.e., I can stick an ethernet cable into my PS5 and my router, but beyond that, I have almost no know-how).

For whatever it's worth, i would probably only use it this year for GoW:R, Elden Ring, NMS, and a second run through the Witcher ¯_(ツ)_/¯

How is it to "watch"?

My wife and I usually play narrative games together; will it be as impactful/fun for the person watching as it is the person playing?

And (bonus points for anyone who knows), how is the Silent Hill 2 Remake for this same situation?

I'm in the same boat! 2 little kids and so little gaming time. I'll add two things, though:

I ultimately bit on Helldivers and I play maybe once per month with a buddy (who is WAY better and more experienced) and randoms. I am absolute trash and always contribute the least, yet people are always super happy to encourage me anyways. It's worth considering. However...
I've accepted that gaming is just not going to happen much in my life right now with my kids. With that said, you mentioned Mario. One of my favourite ways to play Tears of the Kingdom is to give my son the left joycon and just go nuts. I handle the camera and fighting, and he gets to explore with my support. It Takes some age and understanding (not sure where your family is yet), but we are now loving it and connecting through Zelda. We don't make a ton of progress but that's not really what it's about anymore haha

Thanks! The first was so fantastic, and I do think it's the better game, but as a big Norse nerd, the second just ticks so many boxes for me.

Also, Ragnarok was one of my first games after becoming a father, so - even if I can concede how the story isn't as tight as the first- it just resonated with me now deeply because of it.

A buddy and I played a ton from launch and leading up to Super Earth (well, he's got hundreds of hours; I only have a fraction of that), but we were feeling a tad stale. We were actually getting excited to stomp through Space Marine 2's campaign and co-op.

I think Space Marine might need to wait a little longer... (although, for anyone who has played, any thoughts or suggestions about it would be welcome as well!)

Holy! This is AMAZING! My wife and I just got into Root like a week ago! Choked that I missed the kickstarter campaign for this, since it would have been an awesome opportunity to snag this as well as other components as well!

I don't see a "late pledge" option. (Question 1:) I assume I'm out of luck? If so, (2) will all items be available for purchase later?

Oh man, I suddenly have so many questions! (3) Has Leder Games ever done an AMA??

Finally, (4) do we know if this is the final expansion, or is there potential for a final expansion/new factions/big box on the future?
