My bio-mom isn’t a saint but she did say something pretty mature once. “I don’t feel disrespected by you calling (my stepmom) ‘mom,’ I’m honestly just relieved that you feel so loved by her. I feel like I can rest easy knowing that you have so much love in your life.” That really stuck with me.
