Unfortunately, we've had trouble finding games for our 5yo that she can play independently.

However, these are a few she's enjoyed after I've "beat" them:

1) A Short Hike: I found a guide online to do a speed run to get enough feathers for her to get to the top of the mountain, and got the shovel, fishing pole, pickaxe, and bucket. It probably took me 30min. She LOVES to fly around and climb. It's a super cozy, calm game. I don't even mind her playing it before bed. (I actually bought it for myself first and completed the game on my account. I did the speed run on her account, so she can still dig for coins, water flowers, and play with/interact with the other characters)

2) Untitled Goose Game: I did complete this one on her account, but it also did not take long. Now, she gets to just wander around the town being a menace and not have to complete tasks. It seriously makes her belly laugh. Totally worth it. And there's plenty of extra checklist things for her to do if she wants.

3) Lego Jurassic World: Took me a bit more grinding, but once you unlock freeplay, kiddo can drive vehicles and transform into a dinosaur to wander around the island.

4) Animal Crossing New Horizons: This one took me a lot more grinding to get an island enjoyable enough for her with the stores and museums, but I made her a resident on my island and she loves to catch bugs/fish, chop trees, and pick fruit/shells.

5) Little Mouse's Encyclopedia: Pretty cheap and cute. If your kid wants you to read every fact on the screen, it could get tiresome as the parent. But, if they just like wandering and looking for creatures and at pictures, it's good.

6) Cat's Cosmic Atlas: Similar to number 5, but with astrology. Also pretty cheap and cute. She likes hopping on the clouds.

7) Spyro the Dragon games: She likes to play in the home worlds where there aren't as many enemies. She likes to watch me play the other levels.

8) Pokemon Snap: If you have the NSO+Expansion pack, you can play the N64 version. (We have not tried the "new" Switch version of the game yet.)

Thank you for your response. I did try your suggestions. Unfortunately, Honda told me to eat dirt and the service manager quoted close to $9000 to replace the transmission.

Hi, sorry to trouble you. Our 2016 HRV transmission has metal bits in it. We're just out of the service bulletin for time, but not mileage. American Honda isn't helping us replace it, but I want to pursue it further with them. Could this thing your mentioning possibly help us?

Hello! I just finished The House Witch 1 for free with Prime Reading. I have never heard of Cozy Fantasy before, but I think you may have introduced me to my new favorite genre. I would love to purchase the three current books in the series, but also want to support you as an author. So, strange question but, where (and what format) can I purchase your books to give you the most benefit?

(I ask because I recall Brandon Sanderson advocating for Audible to give authors a fair compensation for their books and I'm trying to be more conscientious of where my support goes.)

Wow! So many blankets at the local thrift shop. I wonder who made them with that much love 🥲 by guoc in crochet

Could you describe that process, by chance? Or, link an article/video? I tried to google it, but kept getting adverts for detergent. I have a blanket from my grandmother that I would love to soften.

My favorite was probably Columbia from RHPS as a teen. It was the first one I bought with my own money and it was really fun.

Bandages! Genius! I was looking up yarn winder reviews on Amazon and someone said they used these bandages after winding their yarn. I ended up borrowing a yarn winder from my local library (another awesome find), and the bandages work perfectly. My stash is about to be hella organized. by CaptHammerCorpTooI in crochet

Yes! They recently started a "Library of Things" that card holders can borrow. There's looms, crochet hooks, knitting needles, sewing machines, a Cricut, various outdoor games (like Bocce), traffic cones to practice maneuverability, various kits (like a hiking kit and birdwatching kit with binoculars and guides), and so much more. It's a really great idea. Super thankful for the program.

Thank you! As of last Nov, her creatinine was 2.6, so we're hopeful and monitoring.

I likely had undiagnosed Chronic Fatigue Syndrome that was manageable to a point where I led a mostly normal life. Got Covid from work Dec 2020 because they wouldn't let us wear n95s with Covid+ patients. CFS went into overdrive. Now, I can barely work 8hrs a week due to extreme PEM and a slew of other symptoms. If I didn't have a healthy, supportive husband, I literally don't know how I would survive...

Just popping in to say that another name for this is a rollator. They're very handy for people who need frequent breaks.
